the problem was the program doesn't support intersection takeoffs yet. It's expecting you to be at the very end of the runway.

You guys must have all missed the part where the dev put it to a vote and the majority asked them to release early. Several of us said yes, release early but just be prepared for the dogpile of people

Greetings all, I just wanted to drop a few things after scrolling through this thread😁. When I'm not slipping the surly bonds, I do my secondary job as a product manager doing software development int

Just a tip for the issue I mentioned a few pages back about a number of us with VKB devices having issues binding a PTT key to them.  One user in the support thread for it in BATC's Discord figured out it was working after they flashed the latest VKB firmware release from September.  I tried it as well on my Gladiator NXT's and it worked.  Someone with a Gunfighter base also just reported the latest firmware fixed the issue.  So if you're trying to use this with a VKB controller and PTT binding isn't working because it's not recognizing the buttons correctly, check if you need a firmware update.

Another tip some might find useful - I have assigned a shortcut to "Toggle Bring to Front". Pressing once opens the BATC window over MSFS, pressing again makes it disappear and refocuses on MSFS. Saves Alt-Tabbing or Windows keying and is a neat solution until they hopefully add an in-sim panel or web-version of BATC that can be run on an iPad.

Great tip! And I guess if the “on top” or whatever it’s called option is on, it won’t make FG or g-sync go inactive when quickly checking the window. An iPad version would be awesome.

definitely not buying this right now 🤣 I just watched 320 Sim Pilot review of it and once he got to the departure runway I was cringing while watching. This thing has a long way to go. All I could feel is my wallet being depleted of Premium Voice funds as he went off track from BATC's designed script

Ouch. Just watched it. Definitely some room for improvement. Sounds like they've at least patched the vectoring issue already.

Just had a first full flight after a decent early finish from work.

Pretty impressive for an Early Access, flight itself went very well, descent was fine - at least the initial clearance later clearances could have been marginally earlier, but didn't cause an issue. Ended up with a more or less straight in approach from the STAR although BATC did try and micromanage with a completely pointless last minute vector onto 110 degrees (for a runway that was 107 degrees).

Whilst I did have "Simple Basic Voices" checked (although I didn't restart after - so perhaps that could be the issue?) the program did regale me with many voices which sounded suspiciously like the cast of Monty Python, having being drinking heavily for 2 days, making up unintelligible (non English) accents. The only up side being that my FO was able to translate .. ..

My second flight with it went perfectly again, except for some issues of understanding me when acknowledging a handoff (known bug apparently, getting fixed). Had vectors both on departue and approach and they were good (not perfect, slightly off by a degree or two, but this could be because the algorithm doesn‘t take crosswind into account yet). Even had to go-around due to crazy turbulences on final, and it vectored me around again with no problems.
I believe others when they said it didn‘t go well on descent, but I guess it‘s not *that* bad in general, but rather specific cases. Either that or I‘ve just been lucky so far.

Those patches are nice and all but I have seen them all before during beta where the dev was constantly fixing vectors and descents. I have the idea he has to fix them one by one for every approach and every STAR or something like that. Almost every day the above two problems were reported and almost everyday there was a fix and almost every day it didn't change a thing in other flights. Proven by the fact these problems are still here today in EA. The fix for 320 Sims Pilot's video was probably done mainly because everyone can see that video (and be shocked by it). I am really curious to see if the dev somehow managed to fix these two issues for everyone and every flight.

Tried to make a purchase yesterday and two credit cards got declined. A sign from the universe? 🤔

May I ask what kind of cards that were? I (also) can't buy BATC right now and I am looking at CC alternatives but I am never sure if they will work...

I didn’t even use a credit card, I have one of those debit cards that can be used like a credit card.

I will see if I can open a Revolut account tonight: you can get a virtual CC there, so it seems, and maybe that'll do the trick.

PTT or any key bindings are not even working for me. Tried on keyboard and a controller. Multiple restarts of the app and controller, admin mode. Nothing. Not even the binding for Overlay even works. *******....

Pleased to report that the latest update (1.0.21.EA) seems to have improved things significantly regarding descent clearances.
Just flew into EGLL and was correctly cleared along the STAR to the correct altitudes before indirectly being cleared to the FAF altitude when getting ILS clearance. First time this has happened to me after 8 flights, previously it was always just the first STAR altitude and then nothing until much, much later.

Hopefully not just a one off, but this was the first flight gate to gate without any issues.

Another flight for me, from Larnaca in Cyprus to Beirut and it was pretty flawless, although it helped that the STAR led directly onto the RNAV for runway 03 at BEY.

The only two quibbles I have is that the clearance didn’t give me an initial altitude (there isn’t one on the chart for that SID) so I just picked the first minimum altitude restriction on the departure.

Secondly when I checked in with Beirut radar, my copilot gave our altitude as something weird like flight level one three one hundred (you don’t get very high for this 20 minute hop). Given that the aircraft was in ALT CRZ so will float up and down by a small margin, I imagine that BATC is taking the cruise altitude a little too literally. Also it should be flight level 131 for a hundred feet above 130.

That all said, the Greek and Arabic accented premium voices were superb, very immersive!
