I'm not totally sure where this information comes from, but that is not accurate. At the core is, the sim does not support hot swapping avionics. We have advised developers against utilizing hot

  • I'd say FlySimWare Cessna 414 if it can't be the Duke.

I've seen in this thread the Duke works fine with 2024

Can someone do me a solid and give me the instructions on how to properly install it to 2024?

Thanks in advance!

How detailed do you need to go?  @pete_auau 's answer is basically what you do but if you want a blow by blow detailed process, I did a number of screen shots recently of the process for a fellow simmer.  Happy to post the screenshots - if I can remember how to do so on this forum! 🙂

The Duke works faultlessly(as far as I can tell. I'm not of the 'this gauge is 1/2 degree out type)in 2024 with one exception. That infernal dynamic registration doesn't work. It results in a flickering of, what I'll call a 'dynamic reg area'.

But if you don't mess with the selection area it fixes itself...Sort of.

Moral of this post? Stay in the cockpit!

EDIT: I have it on good authority that this is a known issue with 2024. Actually Black Square disabled dynamic registrations on their Starship because of it.

A really great addon but I haven't looked at it twice since the Starship came out. And the Aerostar. If I want to fly a twin, those are what I am drawn to. Even the C414 has been shelved for now.

Prexactly! Spoilt for choice really. Even the trusty C310 is incarcerated in 't hangar.

Appreciate it! 2020 is long gone from my PC which I hope doesn't ruin it for me. Thanks!

Will do.  I'll remind myself how to get the pics onto the site and post the process.

Perhaps we should have them on a rota. One week at a time. Mmm, think I might do just that. Add a sprinkling of fighters as well, been ignoring those to of late.

OK @JughedJones - first of all, I am going to assume that you know where to find your MSFS2020 Community Folder and your MSFS2024 Community Folder but shout if that is not the case.

First off, the straightforward process - which is how it should  work, but I will add in the next post the likely other steps if this doesn't.  In these examples, I am showing the files for the Piston Duke but the process is the same for any variants.

1.   You open your MSFS2020 Community Folder and look for the duke.  The piston version in my Community Folder is shown here:

2.  You Copy this file folder

3.  You then find your 'MSFS2024 Community Folders' Suite:

Then right click on the 'Community' folder and Paste the copied Duke file.

4.  If you want to, you can double click on the MSFS2024 'Community' folder just to make sure that it's copied OK.  It will have the same description as it did in MSFS2020:

And that should be it.  All being well, you should be able to boot up MSFS2024 and choose 'Free Flight' and now the Duke should be there in your Aircraft list (top right in the very blurry pic second down below):

Tomorrow, I'll post a few shots of where to look if you have copied the Duke folder into the correct place, but you still can't see it in your Aircraft list in MSFS2024

Before you deleted 2020, did you by any chance keep a copy of your 2020 community folder?

I know I didn't.  Big mistake....🙃

Thanks in advance!

For me it was as simple as drag n drop from v2020.

had to do that because I bought it in v2020 Marketplace before the 2024 MP was available.

im not a “power user” of this aircraft, but I haven’t had any issues flying it around in v2024.

great addon, highly recommended.
