Yeah, I already have addon linker so I didn't really need to do anything.

Havent got to flying yet, but the Dune screen and default to window is still with us eh?

Cool... cool.

Minimize the sim while it's loading. Problem solved.

For me, I don't see much difference from SU14.  But at least we don't have a bad update.

For me it‘s the opposite. I experience a huge gain in performance and smoothness with SU15.

Sometimes I have to admit to myself:
"Si tacuisses, philosophus mansisses"

Downloaded and installed with zero issues, hardly even know it's there. Loaded up, Flying again, good performance. All up the update went in smoothly and not a hiccup.

Martial made it very clear that they have no plans allocating any working hours to fix it a few Q&A's ago.

That's because his response was extremely irritating, saying he couldn't reproduce it properly on the first try (clearly suggesting he didn't spend much time looking for it) and that it has to so with frame rate (complete nonsense it's to do with the Shutdown Window that used to pop up).
A prime example of yet again Asobo not fully understanding the issue presented even though before that Q&A there was already hundreds of Votes and reports of it, since that pitiful response the Votes count has gone up a considerable amount to show them that this is an important issue to fix but alas it will be ignored forever, I bet it's still present in MSFS2024...!

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

This update was a special one: as usual, I unticked all addons in AddonsLinker before firing up MSFS. To no avail, always stuck on «checking for updates». Then I simply ticked all addons again and off it went, found the update and downloaded it with max. speed. Strange, somehow unticking one of my addons seemed to block MSFS from being updated. Never had this before with any of the former updates...

At this stage I have more or less given up on them, and MSFS2024 isn't in my thoughts at the moment.

I gave up on them long ago with respect to certain areas of their organisation & management of this Sim that clearly need vast improvement, it's so obvious it's become funny!

I'll no doubt get the next sim day one, I'm a sucker and even though I dislike their ignorance towards VR and their ineptitude in understanding Users complaints they have delivered a truly groundbreaking simulation here - what pains me is that it could've been so much better with a little more understanding & common sense.

Anyway, back to SU15, I have more DX12 flying to do!

I've had no download or deletion issues and the sim runs generally smoothly with intermittant pauses, freezes, bubbles and squeeks during climb and/or approach, so exactly the same as it was before the update.

I'm also not thinking of MSFS2024 as I don't believe they can deliver a better product than 2020 that won't come with its own issues. Absolutely no way. I'll stick to all the mods and payware I have as I know what I'm getting. Maybe in a year or two I might have some interest when it has grown into something else.

I have Addons linker but I opted to simply rename the Community folder (Community.old) and the download, and install, went without a hitch.

Ok so I loaded up a flight this weekend and updated to su15 and drivers GPu, cleared all the caches and using asfs fbw traffic autofps

Settings all the same dx11 high ultra

And performance has degraded a little stutters here and there more frequently whilst panning,

It's wierd how perf can vary from one day to the next. I did similar. - Renamed Community folder, downloaded SU15, Put Community folder back, updated Nvidia drivers, updated AutoFPS. Got a great flight so one of those things worked, but I reckon the next flight will be different.

You can get stutters after clearing the caches, as the GPU has to generate all the shader files from fresh all over again at everything you look at.

I have rarely cleared the caches.  Probably once when having a problem, but it didn't fix it anyway as it was the famous MSFS DX12 bug from a few years ago that they had to fix (large multi-coloured trees).
I think it is another one of those myths like clearing or renaming the Community folder during an update, which I haven't done for about three years, and no problems with my near 1TB of addons.

I think its all placebo if I'm honest. I had every intention of renaming the Comm folder etc but I actually forgot to do so and only realised once the download had completed and I was in the content folder updating the world updates. I had zero issues and the sim runs just as smoothly as it did before the update. The sim has become such a convoluted mess of mods, upgrades, peripherals and hardware that there are bound to be wild differences of performance and issues for every user. One size certainly does not fit all.
