SIm Update 15 releasing today

Featured Replies

I just finished a flight KMKE - KJAX in the Fenix A320. No issues whatsoever. It was a very nice flight with default MSFS live Wx. The departure airport scenery was the IniBuilds Milwaukee and the arrival was the Fly High Jacksonville.

So far, so good 🙂

SU13 fps was best. Less fps in SU14. SU15 fps gets a little better and stutters a lot better. But still not as many fps as in SU13. This has been true throughout the beta (which started in late February).

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Smooth SU15 update, but can't login the Navigraph Hub, anyone?

Update: now the Navigraph Hub works again, checking for other Navigraph updates.

Yeah, I tried to update through the hub but it deleted everything there and wont detect anything but Fenix, TDS and Active Sky....

Finally I could download a small update, but I don't want touch the nav hub anymore for a week at least.

Anyway the SU15 is working well here, I tested the new A320 and It Is not that bad, but after the enhancements install it's resulting very heavy on fps.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

It wanted to do the same for me (I also had left the beta before) and I noticed that it wanted to install the sim in the default drive. I simply clicked on the path and changed it back to were my sim actually is. Problem solved. However it still redownloaded a bunch of stuff that I had purposefully deleted beforehand so I had to go to all the installed stuff in the content manager again and delete what I didn't want. Must have deleted some good 25Gigs of stuff.

One problem is I pressed the word 'UPDATE' beside the default file path listing as I was expecting to see a file explorer pop up menu allowing me to change the path. This was after manually editing the Usercfg.oft entry for the Instal Path.  This has worked in the past if I ever had to delete that config for test purposes, on next sim start it would create a new one but assign the default path.  Sim this morning has wiped my entire controller assignment profiles, wiped all settings, erased by Log Hours back to zero.  Absolutely gutted as never had any real issues before.  Have to get ready for work now and wont have time over the weekend.  Had the sim set up really well with control profiles, sensitivities etc

The pauses in map zoom was happening for me while stuff in the content manager (world updates) was downloading and installing. I think that is the problem. The world updates are doing stuff to files that the map is reading.

EDIT: Yep, now that the new content has downloaded (world updates) the map zoom is back to normal.

Still happens for me, nothing downloading on the background.

This supposed ground handling?, is it applied to all Asobo aircraft?

I've tried the Cub and Husky and there is no discernible difference.

Tbh everything seems about the same for me, don't know what all the fuss was about.

No, just the 172, SR22T and one other aircraft that I don't recall.

It's also already used by at least one third-party aircraft, the Duke. I've tested it there and found it to make a world of difference in a crosswind. Previously, the Duke was skating across the pavement for me, and it's now much more controllable and believable.

As someone replied above, only the SR22 and C172 out of all of the default aircraft.

Asobo were asked on the last Twitch session if they intended to add the improved  ground handling to any more default aircraft.
The response from Martial was typical - basically he said, hesitantly...  " we don't know yet, these things take time".  But you could tell from his body language what the real answer was.  So another typical half-assed approach from Asobo.
500 people working on MSFS they say...  Ha!  It is obvious where their priorities are now.  2024.

I wonder if we can find a way of doing it ourselves.  It is just editing config files apparently.
There must be some info in the SDK if third parties are modifying their own aircraft.
I am hoping some kind soul can find their way around what to do, and start dropping the config files up on FS.to.

I take back what I said about nothing changed...they have increased the tendency to weathervane into a crosswind to an unrealistic level at quite small crosswind components, very noticeable in the flare and after touchdown, also when taxiing.

Edit, Im talking about affect on small light aircraft, I don't play with the heavy stuff enough to comment

Oh right I misunderstood the whole story on ground handling and assumed it was change to the core sim that made the world physics more realistic, so its actually just individual mods to aircrafts files?

Not to mention the rtrded dune screen still stays on. Hideous.

As usual after updating content msfs froze. Hard restart. Not full screen but windowed mode on start still forced...

How it normally works is they do make changes to the core sim to facilitate the better handling, but then it requires individual changes to each aircrafts config files (with new lines added) to trigger this for each particular aircraft.

So basically it doesn't do it automatically sim wide across all installed aircraft.  Apparently IniBuilds have added the required lines of parameters to their A300, and it is better.  A few other third party developers were mentioned above as well.
Hopefully it will be a standard thing for all developers to add now.

The CFD changes for prop aircraft worked just the same also - not sure how many developers have bothered with that either.  I know a few have.
