SU15 A320, FBW, or Default A320?? Which to keep?

Featured Replies

Hello Gang!

So now that SU15 is out, which Airbus A320 do we keep in the hangar.  I know we can keep both, the original and the new one by Inibuilds.....and the FBW.......but it does not make a lot of sense to keep more than one if one is better than the others......space alone might be an issue.  Any ideas what the consensus might be here?

Thanks

Sincerely,

Dennis D. Müllert

This isn't an easy yes or no question.

There are areas I feel the FBW is better than the INI: It has a better EFB that has charts, the system depth in places exceeds the Ini. The sounds are way better in the FBW.

However, the Ini has missed approaches and the RNAV approaches modeled.

When FBW releases their new FMS, it will have missed approaches and eventually RNAV. Also, since it's not a contracted MS airplane, it will see updates faster. The A20n will be like the a310: Ini won't make any changes that's not in their contract with MSFS.

Pretty sure based upon past performance you need the default a320 in order for the v2 to work.  As for which, Asobo or FBW they are both equally good.  If I had to make that choice it would be hard.  Glad it’s not me! 😇

I would save yourself the bother and just keep them all installed.  There's no real issue doing that.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Do a flight in each and pick which one you prefer!  I have flown all 3 and I would keep the FBW over the others.  FBW has by far the beast soundset. The sounds are not great with the Ini version....some really odd audio mixing and levels going on with it.

I do like some aspects of the 320NEO v2, but if I had to i opt I would go for the FBW... Any way, why not use both?

Inibuild 320 does not include TOD Hold in the configuration like FBW or I have not seen it yet

Sure? I tested in a beta and didn´t appear. I thought it was a bug.

Not great, then.

I don’t do these. Ever. Thus the FBW is just fine for me 😉

I don't see any reason to use the ini A320 unless you are on XBox.

Like all inibuilds products it is miserably optimized performance-wise and on my system it runs only at the same FPS as the Fenix even though the Fenix is lightyears ahead when it comes to system depth, sounds and immersion.

So if you can take the performance hit of the Fenix and can afford to buy it use the Fenix. If you want a better performance or a freeware product use the FBW A320 (performs about 10-15% better than the Fenix on my system).

Ok frustrated.  Tried to GSX to connect for pushback.  Kept asking to release parking brakes...I did that.  I use FBW and LatinVFR (Uses FBW).  Never a problem.  Looks like I will continue with FBW or until someone puts in a tutorial that shows me I am missing something (A current one not 6 months old...release ready)

The FBW A320neo is miles ahead of the iniBuilds version. Stick to that

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo
64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance
32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

I'm skipping it for now.  Performance reminds me of the A310 when they released it.  Even without the marketplace enhancement to add the cabin and 4K textures I took a massive FPS hit.  I normally run capped to 90 FPS in Nvidia control panel with 3440x1440 native resolution and at 115% in game render scale with TAA (NOT DLSS AA) and native 4000 series frame gen on.  At an airport where the FBW, Fenix, and PMDG can ALL run at that when fully powered up etc, the Ini was down in the low 60's and even before turning on the batteries it was at like 68.  Now of course that's still usable there, but it makes me wonder what's going to happen when I get to a demanding area of the sim. Anything that drops me below 46fps kicks my Gsync compatible monitor out of Gsync and it becomes instantly noticeable and distracting once you're used to Gsync.
