I had that problem also. Allowing pop-ups made the process work, although slowly.

This is like your internet provider. They need to swap the "internets computer" with the "billing computer" and the problem is solved.

I bought it last night at 10.30PM UK time. 

I've still not received an email, and on PMDG's website's order page, my order is showing as completed but not available for download.

Hopefully they sort things today, but I will unimpressed if people are buying right now and receiving what they've paid for, whilst my order has been in limbo 11 hours now.

I bought it at just about the same time as you, 22:30 uk, I got the email confirmation code at 01:48 so yours should have been issued I’m sure. Maybe hidden  in a mail folder somewhere?

No email received for sure, but the completed order is there in my account on PDMG's web site along with all my previous orders for FSX, P3D and the 737 for MSFS. It just says not available beside download link.

If that doesn't change by tonight I will open a ticket. 

 

Might it be an idea to express all your feedback to PMDG themselves?

I first bought the 737 on FS9 and I'm still learning stuff about it.

A trip to a football (soccer) match in the UK with travel and food costs in excess of £100 these days, so paying half that for something that will entertain me for years seems like good value for money.

I've opened a ticket now, as i see PMDG are saying on their own forum that their systems are up to date now.

"I bought the 777 for MSFS at 10.30pm UK time last night.

 

I haven't received an email, and although the purchase is showing as completed on the orders page in my account, it is also showing as unavailable for download.

 

I was going to wait to allow the backlog to clear before opening a ticket, but I see on your Forum Mathijs Kok says your systems are now up to date, so i would appreciate if you would sort my download link please."

My ticket was responded to within 2 minutes, and I have my download link now. Can't complain about that!

logged on, paid, downloaded, installed this morning (UK time) - 10 minutes end to end

if you want to be first in the queue, to the literal second, for such a huge release, you cannot be surprised when it is a disaster

totally agree, although I am a little surprised in this era of cloud scaling designed to solve this exact issue of bursts in demand, that systems cannot cope - although, inevitably there will be a cost limit applied so that infinite scaling does not occur

and that brings us back to cost - it makes very little sense to spend unduly on meeting the demands of the people who were F5'ing all day yesterday so they could buy it the very second it went on sale

they are of course with some justification noisily disappointed, but this problem occurs with every big release

The process for downloading the product is very tedious, not sure why 2 factor authentication is needed to initiate a download within your (logged in) account? Especially frustrating if you have blocked pop ups and the download seems to never happen. Otherwise looking forward to finally flying this bird.

if it was possible to have a cracked version appear online so quick, how is this relatively archaic DRM justified?

their system feels old fashioned, but this week I had to email a vendor and beg for the license acvitations to be reset which is also ridiculous and doesn't bode well if that company goes bust

What I can say is that this topic is an unmitigated disaster. Has no one ever had a problem placing that online bet at the last minute, buying those seats to the show from Ticketek or buying your tickets to the game final? These systems are designed to sell tickets on a regular basis. That's what their purpose is. But invariably when they first open for sales in the category you want, they get busted by the sheer volume of people trying to purchase at the same time.

Contrast that with PMDG who have one major release a year (ish), DC-6, B737,B777 so it is understandable they don't invest in a massive e-commerce capability when even the big players have issues.

Another important difference is that when placing a bet or getting tickets to the show or the tickets to the game final, the time available to do this is limited. Miss the time and the the bet's off, or all tickets are sold out, so the madness to hit the buy button repeatedly until the site opens in the hopes you will get 'served' is kind of understandable, but in doing so, it creates an unintended Denial of Service attack (DoS) on the servers. 

But no such issue exists with PMDG. The B777 will be on sale for many years to come, and they don't need to manufacture anymore. Their entire sales demand for  ever...is fully stocked. No one is going to miss out. 

So what purpose is there in ignoring these readily known issues around server overloads in order to panic buy a product that will be available for sale... effectively forever, and with a sense of profound righteous indignation (without accepting their own actions actually contributed to the DoS or significantly slow processing),  then demand that a certain Mr Redanso (sic) who apparently owns a very tall horse,  should get off said horse and 'address the demand!!' 

If any one is having problems waiting for their product I suggest you look in the mirror, tell yourself to be more patient, and then relieve all stress, all angst and all gnashing of teeth by saying ..."word not allowed it..I'll buy it next week".
