June 26, 20241 yr Agree Terry, I think it is rather unreasonable to expect PMDG or any other developer to have an almighty online shop system capable of handling 1000’s of simultaneous transactions when they might only release one product in a year. For the rest of the year, they probably have some days with zero transactions and on a “good day” might have 5 or 10 transactions. As for comments about them taking the money quickly, probably also unfair, as internet shopping payments are typically routed thru payment gateways with massive global banking infrastructure, which is not on their site and is managed separately, capable of handling huge traffic. PMDG are not taking your money, the payment gateway (aka bank) is. The two processes are not directly tied together, hence money is taken quickly while PMDG’s systems may struggle to keep up. It is a way of ensuring that the email address you used to purchase the aircraft is legitimate and that you (the purchaser) are who you say you are. I’m frankly surprised that more developers of high-end (and expensive) MSFS add-ons don’t use Two-Factor Authentication. Most forums, when you initially sign up for an account, require you to respond to an email before you gain full posting access. This is no different My only criticism of PMDG’s way of implementing TFA is that it depends on using a pop-up in your default web browser, and browser pop-ups are often disabled by default. June 26, 20241 yr People are still freaking out over this. It's just a plane. PMDG had this process for years now to help stop piracy. Piracy is terrible in flight sim right now. Instead of freaking out over a few extra steps (that most have no problem with) then maybe try to shut down the pirate/torrent sites that are damaging the community and developers? And give that website more time to send you the code. It only serves to frustrate legitimate customers. DRM is only useful for protecting initial sales, long-term it's a losing game. If your solution can't protect initial sales then your DRM is only going to annoy your customers, so better to find a more suitable solution Edited June 26, 20241 yr by Lucky38i
June 26, 20241 yr The TFA took about 5 minutes to complete on my end, I just let it spin and it eventually did it's thing. That was after the first time I got impatient, backed out and had to send myself another verification code... 😉 I'd leave it up to PMDG to say if the rollout was a disaster rather than a disgruntled user who the process didn't work for declaring the entire 777 rollout a complete disaster LOL. June 26, 20241 yr Installed last night. The only issue I had was after entering the authorization code. After a couple attempts, I realized I had to turn off the browser's popup blocker. P.S. "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" Life is too short.

I've attached two pictures: the first one shows the deviation from JFK 31L, and the second one shows a 0.29 deviation on an RF leg. It's disappointing that despite the significant effort and achievements in other areas, this A/P, FD interface has brought the same deficiencies/bugs from the 737 into a new product. This issue isn't related to the actual 777 line pilots involved in this development; it's RSR's typical haste in releasing a new product with serious bugs. I'm disheartened; this person isn't up to the task, and it's unfortunate that the programmers are put in such a position. In the second photo it appears you are doing the Kennedy 5 departure, Breezy Point climb? As a practical matter I doubt many pilots would fly this procedure in LNAV with the AP engaged. I think the initial part of this departure would always be hand flown. In this procedure standard RNP 0.3 would apply so the 0.14 deviation is acceptable. I tried this departure in Aerowinx PSX, which as you may know emulates a 747-400, and probably has the most accurate LNAV/VNAV found in any sim available to the general public. I engaged the AP as soon as it became available at 400 feet. It also (initially) turned slightly outside the magenta line. However the magenta line dynamically adjusted to match the aircraft’s current path as it proceeded through the turn. This would be correct behavior for the way this procedure is internally coded. The main constraints are to remain east of CRI radial 039, and to overfly CRI VOR. The AP is permitted to do whatever it has to do to achieve that. I have not tried it in the 777. 0.29 deviation on an RF leg is of more concern, though it is (barely) within RNP 0.3 limits. The real test would be an RNP-AR procedure with RNP 0.17 requirements and a complex path. The procedure I would normally use to test this in a sim is the RNP Z 13R approach at KPSP beginning at FERNN. This a thorough “workout test” for both LNAV and VNAV. In the r/w this airport is not served by 777s, but the runway is long and wide enough that a 777 could certainly do the approach and landing. After that arrived I have requested at least 15 times a two-factor authentication code without any result. Perhaps, Mr. Redanso ought to get off his high horse and address the demand. Stephen A. Peil This happened to me. I finally gave up last night. Now this morning I thought maybe it was because of using Edge. I switched to Chrome and tried again. Received the code and tried again. Quickly started downloading. So don't know whether this was purely coincidental and the process was overloaded last night but now installed. Reading this thread I see the issue was pop up blockers. I actually thought last night it was my firewall and turned it off. Unsuccessfully. In any event I obviously didn't have pop up blockers on in chrome. Has no one ever had a problem placing that online bet at the last minute, I spoke to a colleague recently who wanted concert tickets for a famous performer. He had his phone, laptop, tablet and PC logged on to the ticket site. His wife also did the same the second the tickets went on sale. Why should the problem be any different for a big aircraft release from a company like PMDG? Any company could spend an enormous amount for extra capacity, but why would they to just cover that first few hours of releasing a product? Who would want the price to be much higher for this?
