  • Mine took a little bit, as expected. But plane is installed and look great now. Does anybody have any patience these days? Or is it a thing from the past.

  • I said this in the main forum, I don’t understand why people try to purchase and download a product they already know is heavily anticipated from a company that has historically troubled launches rega

  • Really? The old "servers are overwhelmed" chestnut again? This ALWAYS happens with highly anticipated releases from ANY add-on maker. Why is it so imperative we get the latest and greatest on Day

SHORT VERSION AT THE TOP:
A few minutes after we made the 777 live, we experienced a sales spike that exceeded 20 sales per second for more than 4 minutes. Our providers had stressed tested for a theoretical limit that was 7x higher than what we saw with our 737 release, but this number was higher. That caused a few thousand orders to get "batched" into holding while the system triaged itself to keep running.

Once beyond the peak, the system stopped falling behind, but at it's worst there were 6,000 orders in holding for processing. That number has been halved in the 2hrs since release, and at the current rate of processing we anticipate all batched orders will be processed in the next 90-120 minutes.

I don't understand why we need an activation key from an E-mail. Why can't they just add it directly to your account like nearly every other Flight Sim storefront out there?

if you get to the point of entering authentication code and nothing happens, make sure to allow pop ups in your browser, worked for me.

I think I see where my problem was, I turned off ad blocker, but not Chrome pop up blocker. When I did that, it finally went through.

I finally got the email with the download link after almost an hour, but it is useless ,because they require two factor authentication, which isn't working. I am surprised they don't ask for a DNA sample, before they OK the download. Looks like tomorrow morning, before I get to download it , if I am lucky.

If you have a pop-up blocker enabled in your default web browser the 2-factor authentication won’t work. I set PMDG.com as “safe” for pop-ups in Edge back when I first purchased the 737 and it just now worked fine for the 777.

The two-factor authentication is nothing new for PMDG - they have using it for all their MSFS products for the last two years.

Their systems on such big releases suck and there's absolutely no excuse for it. This is the last bird I'm buying from there hopefully and hoping Bluebird comes through to complete my Boeing collection.

Have you check your browser's pop up blocker?

I happened to me a few times after the 2FA, it blocked the pop up download.

After did a trusted link, all was good and the whole process took me about 30mins from email, to getting the 2FA and downloading.

Thanks!

I have atteptded to download my purchase completed 3 hours ago.  It took over and hour to receive a verification e-mail.  After that arrived I have requested at least 15 times a two-factor authentication code without any result.

Perhaps, Mr. Redanso ought to get off his high horse and address the demand.

Wow. Time to chill out.

Complain that its "taking too long" to release.

It's released and their servers are overwhelmed with probably thousands of requests/downloads.

Relax.

People really need to chill out.

Mine finally downloaded and installed and I made a quick test flight.  This plane is amazing.  I used to be an A&P mechanic on these, retired now.  I miss them.

It’s an anti-piracy measure. A way of insuring that you (or at least the email address you use) is legitimate.

Two factor authentication is very common in business. I work in a corporate flight department and virtually every vendor site we work with for things like downloading nav databases and charts, or aircraft maintenance publications requires some form of two-factor authentication - sometimes via email, but more often using a dedicated app like Microsoft Authenticator or Duo Mobile.

It’s just a fact of life in the year 2024.
