Would be a strange question to ask considering the content received over 4 years and the upgrades coming in the new sim.

I do not recall the question being directly addressed, beyond confirming that 2024 is a paid, separate product. However, I would be surprised if there is a discount and I certainly do not expect one. MSFS2020 is, economically speaking, the simulator I got the most value for money from in all my nearly 30 years of flight simulation.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

Yep and even if they hike up the price of the most expensive version (whatever they call it this time, if anything different) I’ll gladly pay for it, given now I know how they’re operating in terms of updates and freebies. Money well spent for sure.

i hope not

For what reason, out of interest? I can understand people not expecting it, but I expect most would appreciate it if it actually happened. Are you wanting them to maximise their profit in the hope it results in more investment in the project or is there another reason?

I would like it to happen, but I'm not counting on it. I had already set aside $120 in my FS budget just for that (if price levels are the same as for 2020).

There wasn't any real Q&A after the presentation.

We'll only see when it's delivered how much of a step up it is from MSFS 2020 and whether it's worth it.

As someone who didn't shift to MSFS from P3D until top quality add-on aircraft started to appear,  I can't comment what MSFS 2020 was like in the early days.  Given the experience of the first iteration, you'd expect a fairly smooth transition to the new product and I agree there's a need for a fair price to keep the development wheels turning, perhaps towards MSFS 2028.

More to the point though,  how quickly will the pay-ware addons we're used to be compatible and at what cost?  That can quickly add up to more than the sim itself.

No mention of this and I wouldn’t expect it. Doesn’t really make sense for a new game - Rockstar doesn’t give you a discount for owning GTA 5 when they release GTA6. Or CD Projekt Red with Witcher 2 or 3. Or pick whatever game you like (Half-Life and Half-Life 2).

Entirely new game, expect full price.

Subject for another thread probably but - how much would you pay for MSFS 2024?

I'm hoping for one edition this time with everything in it, no deluxe, premium etc etc.

Given that the current price for the Premium Deluxe is £109.99 on Steam, I'd be more than happy to pay at least that for the MSFS 2024 I've seen so far.

Did they every give a discount in the old days? I don't think they did. It's considered a new sim so they'll charge full price.
