And that is why the overwhelming majority of PC users don't want to install it on their PCs, I guess.

Source for that statement?

  • Fear of change probably😁 Personally I never noticed a difference compared to my time with W10.

  • I've been using W11 since launch, doesn't feel any different from 10 to me.

That is both factually wrong and makes no sense, how is a free 10% performance increase the reason to stay on an old OS?

I think it's been the loud minority.  I've had zero issues with windows 11.  It's been nice having better HDR tools etc.  Only tweak I made was to restore the windows context menu to a more windows 10 like feel.  That registry edit took all of 2 minutes.  Starting Oct 2025 Microsoft will no longer provide security updates.  The clock is ticking, like it or not.

You have to do it once, there's no way out if you want to be up to date.

You can't hold this update back for ever or a to long time, at some point Win11 tells you you have to do it or your support breaks down somehow..

cheers 😉

You don't have to do anything.  I always disable automatic windows updates.

No, I just have experience at work with a few PCs that have W11, and the rest W10, and almost everyone prefers W10.

No , you are factually wrong.

After seeing the frame rate increases with the new build of Windows 11 i think i can jump ship once its released. I will probably seek to set up and install the stripped out (of Bloatware) version though. That was why i stuck with windows 10. It was easier to strip unnecessary stuff out. Will have to do the research in the mean time to prepare for the upgrade.

Oh like the Steam hardware survey, the biggest hardware survey on the planet that says Windows 10 is at 50% and decreasing and Windows 11 at 45% and increasing?

That's possible, but eventually you get what they want you to have. I'm the kind of guy that moves along with it, I check for updates regularly, may it be OS or drivers. I've never encountered problems and I'm definitely not Gladstone Gander. Come to think of it @Bobsk8 and others, would you stay at a specific release of MSFS if updates were not forced as they are now?

Cheers, Bert
