October 12, 20241 yr I was able to install and complete several flights - I like it so far, though there are items I don’t like or haven’t figured out yet (and this is only an alpha). - Lighting is great, clouds are great, especially at night. - Sim runs smooth as silk locked at my 30FPS half refresh rate of my 4K TV - I haven’t mastered how to assign my hat switch on my Thrustmaster so that I can smoothly pan around the cockpit or outside view - Photogrammetry looks very melted even vs. 2020 - The sim has CTD numerous times, never see this in 2020 or XP12 (but again it’s an alpha) - Autumn trees and variety of trees look awesome (ex. You don’t see vibrant orange leaves flying around LAX but you do here in Wisconsin) - Default airports look silly, but this will provide opportunities for the community to tweak and upload new versions - Love all of the vehicle traffic and ships (I suspect that ships and AI planes are still early versions in this alpha, they don’t appear to be the type matched airliners with real logos yet) - Most important to me - all cores running hard, not one “stutter” yet, I’d been nervous about this watching the preview videos
October 12, 20241 yr My assumption is the photogrammetry is turned down right now just like the grass, bushes, and other ground details compared to the preview videos we saw weeks ago. I can't imagine they won't turn it all back on for release. Probably ramping up the stress test for the data streaming. Edited October 12, 20241 yr by bonchie123

October 12, 20241 yr I don't recall the 2020 G1000 having the flight path, so that might be new. I hope the final sim lets you disable your co-pilot because they keep jump scaring me

Apart from the milky way I wonder if the stars are just random pixels or actual representations of the constellations etc. Either way, they hopefully can at least decrease the brightness of the galaxy/stars digital representation over urban areas and other light polluted areas as a future fix. The stars are actual representations of real constellations. They are correctly placed based on latitude, time and date, and will move east to west as time passes at a given location. This is the case in MSFS 2020, so I assume it will be the same in 2024. The stars may well be bitmaps, but they are accurate. October 12, 20241 yr So despite the notes saying multiplayer doesn't work, it apparently does. There's collisions enabled between multiplayer aircraft as well. At least on the ground Edited October 12, 20241 yr by Tuskin38
October 12, 20241 yr Alright - so the stutters were driving me absolutely mad, but I’ve finally figured it out. No solution to it yet, but at least I know what’s causing it. I have a Razer Basilisk mouse and anytime I move the mouse around, it causes significant stutters. To the point where my fps drop from 117 to the 40s. I was able to capture a video of it as well. So for those who are maybe having the same issue, check your mouse! I’m going to try with a more standard mouse. I’ve verified the Razer software is up-to-date. https://streamable.com/d5mav1 Gaming rig Intel i9 13900k - NZXT Kraken Z73 cooler - ASUS Maximus Hero Z790 64GB Trident Z 6400MHz DDR5 - Gigabyte 4090 GAMING OC 24G 10 x 120mm Lian Li UNI fans - Lian Li OD11XL Case - Corsair HX1500i PSU
