October 14, 20241 yr The terrain & lighting are much improved. It looks like a speed of 100 should be good enough. I will wait for reviews before I buy it. There's a lo to test before I switch from my working msfs 2020. MSFS
October 14, 20241 yr MS servers can't cope with current demand with 2020 let alone the massive demands from 2024. I also wonder how our ISPs will handle it and whether they will throttle our connections. I can see big problems ahead. October 14, 20241 yr I had to pay $30 extra a month due to Xfinity data cap, with MS2020. I bet some that do have a data cap, will exceed that amount with 2024.

It's too bad that some providers still have data caps in this day and age. Hopefully one can also download the default aircraft and airports locally, the same way as with marketplace items. October 14, 20241 yr I think data caps should be illegal in this day and age. Talk about highway robbery. On another note, I did a search. One 2 hour netflix movie in 4k is 32gigs streamed. Pretty much what the above video reached in a similar time. I only have a 1080p monitor so I wonder if it would be less for me. Interesting to see. (I really want one but can only imagine how hot this machine would get using 4k textures)

The only way you can get around the cap is by paying an extra $30 bucks monthly or by going to their highest tier of internet service and with that they want you to use their equipment which prevents you from customizing certain settings such as dns. That has been mentioned, and I am interested in learning more, since I often fly in the same area.. Even the new rolling cache may be of help... we shall see.. Seeing the video showing 100 Mbps+ streaming over the Grand Canyon certainly caught my attention.. Edited October 14, 20241 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
