iFly 737 Max is out now (Pre release only)

Is anyone else having problems with the jet in high wind?  It feels like something is off with the lift model.  I had wind 17020G28 when I took off from MSP 12R and was squirrely and hard to control and was rocking really excessively.  And then I had 170 17G22  When landing on KDEN 17R and I could not get the nose down with out actually pushing forward on the stick even though I was under 110 kts.

I would say basically nothing flat-out "doesn't work".  There are things that can be improved, but not really any more so than a lot of airplanes that have been out for years and are considered decent

  • **We are now releasing version 1.0.0.** This announcement replaces the previous one from a few days ago. The changelog is also replaced. First, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed

  • Another "take 80% of the item, pay 100% and then we'll see" product. Even if i wanted this (it's just another boring 737, so skip anyway) i wouldn't buy it. This is getting out of hand, now even

What do you expect with wind gusting 28 kts - a smooth ride? LOL check this out

Okay, snark aside, the PMDG and Fenix do not do this in the same scenario.  Is no one noticing a pronounced float of the front end on take off and landing at speeds that are below 100kts in strong wind.  For instance if I bring the PMDG 737 in under the same scenario I have to keep back pressure to lower the nose softly.  In the iFly, with no parameters changed I am getting a pronounced prolonged lift of the nose at much lower speeds where even if I go hands off the nose won't lower at a normal rate.  The rudder and ground handling seems overly sensitive in comparison as well.

I don't see a way to change sensitivities like in the Fenix.

I picked this bird up yesterday, and it’s a beauty. I am having an issue using the mouse to select settings in the cockpit. For instance, I was trying to set the ND selector to map, but the knob wouldn’t turn, so I couldn’t follow the magenta line. Anyone else have this issue? Perhaps I just need to restart, since I only had time for the one flight so far.

Cheers, Pete

did you read  the  pdf  that  came  with it 🙂 you have  to change  some  settings  for  the mouse  settings in msfs

In front, Mouse use is a bit tricky, take a look at the manual i found that they give a setting in MSFS for Mouse use but i am not setting it this way.

It does work anyway you have to Zoom a bit near and there are two ways, first the click and or mousewheel turn, keep trying you will get it but as i said it is a bit tricky..

cheers 😉

Rudder works fine for me now, there is a setting in the EFB somewhere like ruddertiller, this have to klick to on than i set up my sensitive settings and now it works more ore less OK.

Before it was very bad but after tiking that tiller to on its much better..

cheers 😉

I guess these are issues that will be apparent when you fly the MAX IRL. I don’t, so luckily I’m blissfully word not allowed*. Some simmers e.g. @sloppysmusic will take a deep dive into the FCOM and that’s fine. I guess there are many approaches to simming.

Hey Cap'n!

Yes I DO love a good long manual read hehe. I'm somewhat of a 'sloppy' sim pilot though. I don't do checklists after the first few flights but I do run through them when learning a plane so I get the systems set up right and understand them.

Electrical states, battery and generator loads. That's an interesting one. I would never look for those to be modeled correctly when choosing an addon but inclusion is definitely something that impresses me. If a dev goes into that much detail then it gives me confidence that all those flashing lights are actually DOING something and not just for show!

Similarly, I rarely do failure testing but I do like them to be simulated as it boosts immersion considerably knowing that they exist.

An obvious 737 one which catches me out occasionally still to this day is the CABIN ALTITUDE warning if I forget to set the packs ON after engine start and of course set correct cruise altitude manually.

Even more important areas the hydraulics. If I suffer a dual engine failure without an immediate APU start I'm running out of flight control pressure pretty quick not to mention electrical power to the cockpit instruments!

Rbe stuff that's a deal breaker for is all the nav options. The FMC has to work in all modes and connect correctly with the INS systems for me to enjoy an ac. I also expect vor /adf nav to work flawlessly as I often fly the 737 pmdg without a flight plan loaded for that reason.

I guess I DO sound fussy after all but to me that's all basic stuff, well it used to be. I think the bar has been lowered in recent years so crusty old die hards like me need to poke our sticks now and then to point out features we consider essential to the immersion we enjoy in flight simming.

Well geez, after figuring out the navdata and building several custom approaches into it, I opened the documentation folder on a whim (didn't figure I needed to read the manual for the work airplane!).  Their manual is pretty good... But also, there's a supplement that explains their navdata format and how to build procedures!

I don't think I've ever seen a sim dev actually include official documentation on that before.  Not only is their solution pretty elegant, they HELP YOU UNDERSTAND IT.  Kinda cool.

Curious, how do the PMDG 737 and  the IFly 737 Max compare, in your opinion?

Has anybody tried editing fuel amount inflight? I got burned with the TFDi MD-11, that can't do so. Flight1 no longer has their 30-day refund period, so I can't try it by myself.

Does anyone know?

Anyone having an issue with GSX not recognizing your parking brake is released for pushback with this AC?

I did it when I initially flew a pattern in the plane. I just edited the fuel and loaded it and it worked fine in the air.

Thanks a lot! It was the biggest roadblock I had. My wallet won't be happy😂
