October 14, 20241 yr The choice of using the old Boeing table is interesting. I had to actually read the PDF's to figure out how this all works and by then (after studying) I was out of time to fly. You can use SimBrief and it will load the fuel/cargo/passengers and route from the flight plan. Even my favorite streamers seemed to struggle with this too. Going to take some time for me to get used to this aircraft, for sure. I can load flight plan via FMC, but so I didn't find a way to load fuel and payload from simbrief to EFB Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). October 14, 20241 yr I stand corrected on one thing, the aircraft does actually have an auto time compression utility similar to PMDG. It only goes up to 2x but it is there. It’s buried in the EFB under system page/panel style/miscellaneous. October 15, 20241 yr Previously qualified in the 734, my first quick impression was excellent. Unfortunately, the hotel has limited internet speed and connection. Anyhow, @Stearmandriver will have a much more detailed review. From what I see, a real Boeing EFB, calculations are pretty good; what is missing is the intx list, atm values. Flight dynamics are very nice compared to other 737 PMDG Boeings, and it works like a charm. VSD swath works as it is supposed to. I would like to see that LNAV a bit tighter; it is not a real issue; it is within requirements. Aircraft while in A/P, in LNAV is smooth in turns with constant banks, before and after wpt aircraft will not get those unnecessary turns left/right, it will fly steady and precise on the track. For a pre-release, it is quite impressive. Personally, I'm very pleased with this release so far. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
October 15, 20241 yr Having completed two flights I'm quite happy to have this in my virtual fleet. A few things to be worked on for sure, but overall it's quite nice. Thanks to @Steve Dra for some of the great repaints that are included, I made use of two f them today (WestJet and Air Canada). On the note of repaints, many have been added to the ifly manager over the day today, so if the one you were looking for wasn't there initially, have another look. Something for me to play with as I cross the Atlantic. (...) EDIT: at 2x compression it’s hunting for the magenta line a bit, seems to be able to hold it though. It’s too bad time compression doesn’t work a bit better, given the longer missions this aircraft can fly. Mmmm, big issue for me. The other 737 has been doing 8x for ages. October 15, 20241 yr For a pre-release, this plane is beautiful to fly. I've completed 2 flight for a total of 5 hrs in the air. No issues at all so far. The night lighting is spectacular. A+ iFly! For example, there is no info available at all about the arc (arc center point, arc radius.) How is it able to construct an RF leg without this data? I wonder if @Stearmandriver has any thoughts. Interesting. I've got it installed and will be testing tonight, but haven't dug into the navdata format yet. I'll check it out. I loaded it up just to verify it was working, and slewed it up to check out the handling. Thought it felt nice. Dropped the HUD and verified IMC and VMC are modeled in addition to AIII showing available, so maybe those work. Flight path vector symbology is the wrong symbol though, and flight guidance in the HUD is modeled completely wrong - it's acting as an attitude command just like the PFD flight director, instead of acting as flight path guidance. Looking forward to giving it a good test tonight. Andrew Crowley

October 15, 20241 yr Wouldn't you know it.... If I ever find this Murphy fella who came up with this law he and I are going to throw down but Murphy's law, iFly is released and I am 7 hours away from having my pelvis drilled and some hardware thrown in there.... For those of you who have been around a while, I think this is # 6 on the spine/pelvis and 2 on the hip... The downside (pun intended) is I can't sit for more than 20 minutes or bear weight for 6 weeks... So watching streams it is I guess. Could always be worse! Enjoy it and congratulations to iFly on what sounds like a very promising release! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
