October 16, 20241 yr I noticed it looked like that straight from the first video. Probably more natural than MSFS2020 if you look at Ryan's photos, but probably needing a bit more saturation added back in. By the way, in MSFS2020, the F key is to take you back to the default view, and V is for the in-built map, or something similar such as Sky4Sim if you have replaced the default map with that. So while I would welcome a keyboard shortcut for gamma, I hope they haven't changed those keys in MSFS2024, as they are quite useful and I use them a lot. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. October 16, 20241 yr I never see true colors in the sim. Blue light shortens life expectancy by helping to cause inflammatory diseases, damages the eyes, makes it harder to fall asleep, etc. I always use the Windows built in "night" filter. It is adjustable from 1 to 100. I use a mild setting for this filter and have it scheduled to turn on 23 hours a day because I don't know how to set it up to run for all the day long. EDIT: In VR, I use open XRtoolkit to reduce the blues, increase the reds. Just a little. October 16, 20241 yr Washed out is the word you're looking for. 🙂 On the side-by-side comparison video someone made I noticed it did look that way compared to 2020. However, 2020 looked far more saturated and 2024 needs to be somewhere in-between the two. I would also say I never noticed it until I saw that video lol.
October 16, 20241 yr This might be a by-product of the improved sun-glare? It’s something I felt was sorely lacking in 2020, (sorely lacking in pretty much all the civilian sims, although the pew pew ones tend to do it quite well) and I’m very happy to see it in 2024. This may be less pleasing in some instances, but actually more natural? i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
October 17, 20241 yr Remarkable discussion when it is a well-known fact - that 1 in 5 males are colour blind and don't know it! Not you ? - there are many tests on the internet - try Google !!

Still a lot, I am for sure not colour blind. Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

By the way, by reviewing some more videos I was able to verify that the tone of the Grand Canyon becomes warmer and browner in the late afternoon. As it should be, of course. Greetings

Greetings 1st thing I noticed in some of the Tech Alpha videos, particularly the side by side comparisons, was the 'washed out' appearance of 2024. In many cases I thought the 2020 coloration was better. T45
October 17, 20241 yr That comparison vid showed that the green tinge that was found all over the ground is no longer in 2024. Additionally, trees cast proper shadows in 2024, providing both sims were running at the same time of day. Edited October 17, 20241 yr by Krakin 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

October 17, 20241 yr Just as an observation, I use my video card to adjust the colors in MSFS2020 to suit my tastes, and expect to do the same in MSFS2024. One other thing: I see major differences in MSFS2020 in the intensity of color depending on time of day and weather conditions, just as in real life. The same area might appear "washed out" under some conditions and vibrant with color at other times. Again, in all probability the same will be true for 2024.

I'll have to be extra vigilant when it's released to see that in action.
