Me too. I have dozens and dozens in that category. Yesterday day I flew into FlyTampa KBOS and after so long I can’t remember and was awed by the beauty and detail of that airport yet very good performance on a mid level system. So many like that. Never run out of discovery in P3DV5.

Indeed I did Ray, but I fail to see how your reply has addressed or is even relevant to that statement.

You talk about people ditching P3D / why developers aren't producing new stuff / what people have invested in P3D and then even mention a rival sim.

All of which has nothing whatsoever to do with my post that you quoted !

@Sparkrite, if you’re saying this forum is quiet I don’t disagree. That doesn’t mean there aren’t still a lot of us enjoying P3D.

Why not share your experiences of your favoured sim which I’m guessing is P3D given your presence here.

My favorite sim is not P3D anymore but I still post here, because a sim doesn't need to be my favorite for me to be interested in what happens in there.

P3D (v4 at the time) stopped being my favorite sim back when I discovered XPlane11. That's quite some time ago.

Nevertheless, I kept following the discussions about P3D when v5 appeared, and later on when v6 appeared. Just because you never know what could drag you away from your "current" sim because of some nice new features or anything that improves your sim experience drastically. Who knows, maybe P3Dv7 brings some unbelievable improvements and it drags be away from my "favorite" sim again ? 🙂

Considering that sales of P3Dv6 personal licences were poor as most people here don't even bought it, it remains to be see if LM will bother with a personal licence for P3Dv7 if v7 is in their roadmap.

Time will tell.

Come On. This forum is a good representation of the P3D user base and it's not secret that a vast majority here (me included) stayed with P3Dv5. Same on twitch.

You won't make me believe that most users here stayed with P3Dv5 but a huge number of newcomers bought P3Dv6.

I have v6 but stayed with v5 out of what I feel necessity with some addons I use heavily not working great or at all in v6. FT CYYZ textures for instance are awful and I don't see FT fixing that anytime soon if ever. At least ORBX is updating their stuff. Would be nice if QW did something about their 787. I'd pay an upcharge if need be.

MFSG have produced excellent airports as have WF Scenery Studio. I’m flying into airports I haven’t visited in months.

I also believe that V6 sales were probably below those of V5, but the way you put it made me wonder if you had seen hard numbers to back that up, hence my question.

I agree with your wish, but I am not sure that will come true since it appears QW is no longer around as a company. From what I read, their trademark for the use of the company name was not renewed in 2022. Their Support forum is open but I am not seeing a lot of activity over there. Its pretty much a community self-help group and has been for the last couple of years. Having said that, its still very much flyable in P3Dv4 and v5. Not sure about v6 though.

Definitely. Thankfully, as you say, it works great in v5. Used it yesterday on a cyyz-rjaa rip. It has panel issues I think for v6.
