Meanwhile over at MSFS HQ someone raised his hand and said, "Lets call it _8wekyb3d8bbwe !  "Yes"!, shouted all the others in agreement immediately.

That's how it is with all ms store apps and games.

Download was quick. Installation/initial start up took about 20 minutes. The sim ran absolutely smoothly with all settings maxed out, which was a pleasant surprise. But since there was only one aircraft available, I decided to restart the sim. Big mistake. Now it gets stuck at 0% on every attempt to start the sim. I guess I‘ll try again tomorrow. What a disappointment.

Last time I was in a queue to play a game it was an MMORPG, never would have guessed I'd be in a queue to play flight simulator ....

Third attempt at loading having rebooted the PC. Anyone in the UK up and flying?

Where are the brave guys who uninstalled MSFS 2020 yesterday?

2024 finally installed. Controls/configuration setup very easily.  Flying around the UK to see how it loks.

"Still to be fair, they had no way of knowing that lots of people would be trying to download it and login today. "

"Restarted console.

8m to get back to 97%. Stuck again.
Hard reset. Restart console.
Try again…

14 mins and I’m back at 97%. On the plus side, that’s the fastest it took me to get to 97%." 🤣

Yes.  I wated for an hour at the 97% message then rebooted.  Setup was then completed in around 10 minutes.  UK looking very nice so far 🙂

Stuck at 0%...

But there's a silver lining to this cloud: This release is apparently successful well beyond Microsoft's expectations, which should bode well for the future of the franchise.

Potential armageddon it is.

sort of concerning that there is a page to tell you the platform is too busy and you're in a queue

clearly this is something they expect more than just on release, unless it was knocked up since release

2nd reboot forced! Waiting queue splash screen. Had it with this word not allowed. Going to 2020 asap.

No more FS 2020, that is VERY bad !!!

Did you accidentally install the 2020 beta when attempting to install the 2024 beta by chance? I did this, and I know I'm not the only one here who did. If you then uninstall the 2020 beta, and if the process gets interrupted, the whole sim gets uninstalled. But at least you should still have your community folder and other downloads if they are in a custom location.

It's hard to imagine this being much better tomorrow - with most of us still trying to play for the first time
