MSFS cost me an additional $30 a month  for unlimited data.

I wasn't aware that ISP's in the U.S. do data caps.

That's something that went away in Germany about 15 years ago. Only mobile internet still comes with caps by default. But the land based internet does not.

I've re purchased without issues after waiting for bugs to be sorted.

btw - i believe you forfeit refund time for the new purchase, that was already used on the initial purchase, so refunding a second time might not be possible if two hours is used up.

I used 4 hours just to install, then 3 more sitting in the server queue and never got to fly. I reported I had an issue and explained the situation, rather than using the standard refund process.

My personal approach is to just wait a while until the servers catch up and things settle down. I bought the Premium Deluxe version so spent a decent amount on the sim including a new rig to run it but its not the end of the world if I can't use it for another few days, I waited a while for it anyway, a bit more time won't hurt. They will get there.

The way I see it, I've invested in four years of free updates by which time 2024 will be far superior to 2020.

FSX had two service packs to fix technical issues and that was it. 2020 had 18 world updates. 9 city updates, continual improvements to avionics, default aircraft, etc.

So the way you could also see it is purchase it in 2 years when its actually 2026. The reason devs do this and get away with it is there are always consumers willing to punt up for pre orders. The logic of investing for 4 years when in 3 years and a steam sale discount someone can pick it up for cheaper and have 3 years worth of fixes right away.... just madness the mental gymnastics these early adopters are displaying...

There is no investment, its a 60 quid game that anyone can buy whenever they want. Your not actually investing in anything at all. It won't go up in value and it won't make you money, there is no return on it other than playing a game.

Investment...... son of God wept. (you can't say ******* on here..... the son of God  jeee susss)

but it's fun and we enjoy ourselves (when it works properly) which is kind of like getting paid and investing in one's well being 🙂

I hope y'all know Steam will lock you out of future purchases of a game you got refunded.

No, actually they won't. Personal experience, not hearsay.

Maybe if you repeatedly ask for refunds they will. Flight1 did the same with users constantly refunding.

Well I've rejoined the 97% club again.  Second time of loading now.  I presume it's just a case of giving up at this point, right?

Same for me. Same as yesterday. I thought they'd fixed it?

I wonder now that the USA is starting the day some of the server issues will be coming back?

2024 now loads fine every time I start it up. It usually takes between 1-2 minutes for it to get to the initial menu options. I had my first proper flight and performance is surprisingly good, much better than I've found in 2020 with my RTX 3090.

Unfortunately I've only been able to run from one airport as after the first flight, it just went into the perpetually loading screen after an airport has been selected. It seems they are still having server issues, but so far am happy that progress is being made.

hancrafted KSFO has been rebuilt from 2020, even has custom jetway models

Is it as good as payware? No, not at all, but it's a lot better than what Asobo made for the launch of 2020 lol

OK but that is word salad, you could invest in ones well being by going outside for a walk and that so far is free.

The point i'm making is saying it is an investment buying a game on day one is as stupid as saying your investing in well being by walking...

Truth is people have jumped in purchased day one haven't been able to get into the game, when in been met with weird changes and UI made for console users and then in flight finally seen that its the same game as before (obviously).

Now they try to convince themselves they are shrewd investors because it will get fixes over the next 4 years...... i mean, that is funny..
