Now, with Lido charts it’s so much fun. I created flight plans on my iPad while “watching” a Rom Com Christmas movie with my wife last night, looking forward to flying them later today! The one thing about the chart package that really bugs me is that they left out the briefing part of the SID charts. You get the sheet with the map, but not the even more important one with all the written information about routing, mnm climb gradients, departure information like when to switch frequencies, what to report to ATC and the initial climb altitude if applicable. I hope this is not a licensing issue but rather some form of display bug and those will show up soon. Edited November 23, 20241 yr by Farlis

Maybe, if as you say there’s no licensing issues that could be implemented. Although, as said never having had charts (other than pulling them every once in a while from online) it’s still nice to have in sim and readily available.
November 23, 20241 yr I had a lot of fun with the career mode today. I particularly like the search and rescue helicopter missions. VR comes in very handy here because you have to constantly search the surroundings while flying. It's very intuitive. I happened to see a documentary this morning about a rescue company in Zermatt in the Swiss Alps, which is what inspired me to give it a try. It's pretty impressive what these guys do every day. Anyway, I normally only fly airliners, but I have to say these missions are fun. They gave me Sim Copter vibes. If Asobo or 3rd party devs could refine them and make them a bit more varied and realistic, I could absolutely see myself doing this more often. November 23, 20241 yr I'm going to stop playing it for a while. It's definitely better than day 1, but I for whatever reason if I set up my controls for one plane, they don't transfer to other planes. Some cockpit take 5 minutes before they load properly. Scenery is blocky. Frozen on me twice today. I'll just let it be and enjoy the weekend.
November 23, 20241 yr Growing on me too, even though I wonder how that is even possible 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not joking! And I think it has set a new standard for desktop / laptop / Xbox... flight simulation Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
November 23, 20241 yr Only commercial plane I've found the most stable is the 787-10. Had a very nice flight from KLGA to KLAS. Don't know if this has been posted. November 23, 20241 yr I already cannot live without this flightsim anymore! It is PERFECTION! Every default standard aircraft has now the quality and system depth of FS2020 40-60 €uro addons, with functional circuit breakers and ultra high detailed engines or turbines under the hood. The visual quality inside and outside is so extreme it beats EVERY highest quality airplane addon that currently exists. With no visual bugs whatsoever in any aircraft (while the cockpits of even the most expensive addons are polluted with 3D-mesh and texturing glitches at every corner.) The quality assurance and dedication to details of FS2024 is absolute extreme! For the first time ever I don´t really care about all my old FS2020 addons anymore (and how or if I can port them to FS2024), because they feel like visually outdated trash compared to the absolute PERFECTION FS2024 delivers. (Well to be honest of course I will port my Black Square Piston Duke and Turbine Duke to FS2024, I really liked the quality and system-depth of these two).
November 23, 20241 yr Since that nightmarish first day ended, I've been in love with 2024. I could never say that about 2020, and I'm glad I didn't install 2020 after re-installing Windows last month. Fix the glitches in the setup screens, and it will be perfect for me. I'm sorry so many are having trouble.

November 23, 20241 yr I've been simming for 20+ years. Haven't had this much fun in FS for a long while, let alone in default planes. 😁 I had to collect my jaw from the floor just after taxiing the Air Tractor around a random snow covered farm field. Even the road tire tracks are modelled, with corresponding 3d-undulations. Absoutely game changer for off field landings and rough terrain maneuvering. November 23, 20241 yr I need to laugh at the closed thread I had made a few months ago, fortune telling, not on purpose I swear.
November 24, 20241 yr Yes totally agree with everything you have all said… I clicked on the download button on tue at 4pm and I couldn’t get into the sim until late thurs night… since then slowly I’ve been able to configure some controls and done a few flights in the vision Jet, a few niggles here and there but I know it will get better … but I’ve been totally immersed and doubt I will be going back to FS2020 anytime soon…. It’s looking promising for sure… fantastic simulator… love it… it’s a nice touch being able to walk around your plane etc… 👍 Regards Paul EGCC

I have to agree; despite the really weird and annoying bugs (really, REALLY hoping they do some major polishing of the career stuff), the career has been a blast. I haven't gotten into helicopters yet (though I will soon as I think some of the missions on that side look like the most fun), it's been really fun to have goals and flights that are completely different from each other w/ an objective to achieve. I got a little thrill after my skydivers did their jump; I took the C172 down as fast as I safely could and landed at the airfield to see one of the divers on the ground w/ his chute and another in the air spiraling down for a landing. Really immersive and fun stuff!

I am confident most will be fixed but a little disappointed that some of the issues that had been solved in MSFS2020 have resurfaced in MSFS2024. No, its got issues too, one being that the Avionics switches don't work if you bind the Set Avionics Master 1 and 2 to the honeycomb yolk. Edited November 24, 20241 yr by cbcdesign
