It's sounding like, at this point, FS2020 is more for flight simulation and FS2024 is more for gamers that are concerned with rocks and blades of grass being rendered with fidelity. The actual aircraft being wonky is of little concern... look at the grass though.. it's beautiful.

I really hope they get the issues with '24 ironed out eventually.

I do not agree. Whilst I enjoy flying the PMDG 737-600 in MSFS 2020, it does not feel as realistic as the NGX did in P3Dv4. I do not really get a sense of inertia in the plane (both in the air and on the ground), and I am really hoping that this can be corrected in MSFS 2024. The way that it bounces up and down just after take off does not feel quite right to me, and the ground handling (whilst a massive improvement when compared to the release version) gives me the impression that I am in control of a small GA plane rather than a heavy airliner. It also still has a tendency to twitch before making a turn

Maybe I am wrong? Maybe the real 737 feels as light as a feather on the ground and in the air? Maybe one of our resident 737 real world pilots could enlighten me? Whatever the case, I am hoping that MSFS 2024 can eventually provide me with a much better representation of weight in my 737-600......and that would make it a much better simulator than game.

I can fly on my PC with an Xbox controller, as ever your "gamey" argument is completely flawed.

I stream most of what we watch these days, but still buy 4k Blu Ray for blockbusters that I know are well-shot with great sound that I'll likely watch more than once.

A lot depends on the print or tech though. There have been some shocking AI upscales to 4K for BluRay #AliensWTFisthis?!

Yep, but I'm not sure you can necessarily blame the simulator platform when there are aircraft - and now another 737 even - that do not exhibit this behavior 😉.  The iFly is actually a little reminiscent of a 737, whereas the PMDG flight model has always... Well, it works.  You can get from A to B.  That's about the best you can say.

Nah, better flight model, walk arounds, charts, turbulence models, weather…2024 adds a lot more to the simulation aspect. If anything 2020 looks more gamey without these features (not saying I believe it’s a game).

What do you do in a walk around for the 777, count the wings?  😉

It's like people's lives come to a crashing halt when their game doesn't work. Hilarious.

Nonsense.  Every desktop sim until 2020 set out to simulate one thing only.  Flying an aircraft.

2020/4 set out to simulate two things.  Flying an aircraft and the world around you.  The better sim is the one that not only simulates flying an aircraft reasonably well, but  the one that improves the immersion of the simulated experience.

The rocks are a product of a 4,000 percent increase in ground resolution.  Grass and other ground features now influence performance of the aircraft.

The features you so ignorantly comment on increase the simulator fidelity of 2024 over 2020. As a bonus, they also look good too.

You finish up by hoping MS/Asobo fix the issues, yet another comment of ignorance of what is actually going to happen.

Really? When you buy something - whatever it is - you enter into a contract with the seller. You have every expectation that the product will work as described.

Presumably if you bought a washing machine where only two of eight programmes worked you would also describe it as “hilarious”.

The grass and rocks actually prove to be extremely useful when landing rotorcraft in VR for judging height and speed in the final few feet.

Absolutely. Mods were released for 2020 to add some texture to the flat ground to aid with this

Hilarious is being used to describe the response to a broken product.  Any product in our complex world can have problems after purchase.  It would be hilarious to contact the washing machine company and tell them they ought to be fired, tell them they should be ashamed and suggest they have no clue what they are doing. Better to calmly say what the problem is and hope they fix the issue.

Same with MSFS 2024.  Give some time for MS/Asobo to research and fix the problem, rather than call for their head - which is hilarious.
