December 4, 20241 yr FS2024 has come to a dead end. The only way forwards, is backwards. The biggest issues of all is not the bandwidth or servers. It's the actual streaming architecture. The only way is to go back to FS2020 architecture and include offline mode as an option. Ironically FSX came to a dead end as well, due to the graphics engine. It took a long time before there was new hope! http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

December 4, 20241 yr Apart from the first two days, i have had no issues with the sim. Even completing a Flight from KFJK-EGLL in FBW's A380, including testing sim acceleration, and BTV landing. \yes a lot of the aircraft have bugs, but for me so far the bonuses are performance is way up, weather is much improved, I do realise a lot are having issues, but there must be some other reason as to why? December 4, 20241 yr You're right. It's been three weeks now, after all. It's time to accept that this sim is never going to be fixed and should be allowed to die it's natural death. Ah well. We had a good run. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

December 4, 20241 yr I’m flying the Max right now, LAX to BOS. For a dead sim, it’s looking pretty good! -B

December 4, 20241 yr Dang I wish I'd read this before spending a massively entertaining 2 hours just now herding cattle via helicopter near Friday Harbor. I'd have not even tried and woulda been in bed already!! "That's what" - She
December 4, 20241 yr Huh? Another bizarrely worded sky is falling rant... Although it does not suit the same role as MSFS2020 for me right now. I did enjoy quite a few vfr flights. I love these AI rocks they have fooled me into thinging some areas have PG when they aren't. Trees are awesome looking, not accurately placed, but better. Clouds are quite improved, gound handling of airplanes is more manageable and realistic. No more ice runway you can't overcome with max rudder when the wind is 20kts anymore. Flight dymanics seem quite improved in most scenarios. We got tons of airplanes and yeah the C172 basic dosen't work and you don't know how fast you are going in the Zlin Shock Ultra, but the Corvalis is nice, I really like the Cirrus SR22 now. The majority of my Marketplace planes were downloaded with out me asking and other than dim displays they all seem to work, can't say the same for the scenery though. The SAAB 340 is a wierd airplane I find challenging to fly. A400M is cool, C17 is cool. Did some AGtruck and AirTractor stuff that was fun. I tried some missions but those were as dumb as I had feared. Got my pilots licence quite quick, but I was expecting something more simplistic and it wasn't too bad it kept my interest for the entire time. Also I chose Sedona so I was really impressed with how it looks. Looks as good as Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon. Finally, AZ got some love. The only glitch I got was over flying the helipad gave me a wierd no contact penalty and for some reason I couldn't contact ground after landing but still managed A everytime. Also for some reason people are having babies at 7 years old because mom and son look the same age. the people models also just look bizarre, also the AI speech paterns are quite hilarious, unintentionally. Some people arn't having as much luck as I am. I have actually had it be stable the whole time. I bought it on the 23rd and I haven't had a single problem launching, connecting, or staying connected. The groundwork has been laid, the launch was botched but I see the potential by probably April or so. For now I have no plans of uninstalling either FS2020 or FS2024. I knew this transition would not be smooth like Jorg and Seb were claiming. It's not a Dead End. It's more like a newly completed road but it doesn't go all the way to it's intended destination... yet... but you can still drive on it. Edited December 4, 20241 yr by aniiran

Sounds like a fun mission but they couldn't find a more realistic place for it? That's hilarious lol. Andrew Crowley

But how often have you had to use it? I don't think I've ever used it once. Obviously, the streaming architecture CAN work, as it has been for 2020 for several years now. It just doesn't seem to work reliably for everyone right now, but that's obviously fixable. Good enough reason for me personally not to bother with it yet, but I appreciate the service of the buy-in beta testers. I have no doubt the game will be good eventually. Andrew Crowley
December 4, 20241 yr I know it may sound a little off topic but.... When was the last time any of you ever used a blue ray or a DvD player.... Of course they still have their uses while in the back country etc. although I've actually been amazed at the places in British Columbia where I have watched a Netflix movie online. Streaming is just the way it is now, no matter how much we kick and scream 😉 Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
