Go hunting for bugs on an official forum because I don't see any myself despite 5000h+ of sim time in 2020.  Let's personalize it then.  I don't experience any 'bugs' by my definition, that would be crashes, things that are supposed to function but don't, etc.  What bugs do you experience in 2020?

I have over 2500 hours with MS 2020, and don't see any bugs either, none.

What a non-sense, instead of being happily flying MSFS2020, people are worried about the "not-yet-finished-and-yet-not-compatible" MSFS2024. Is this a hobby about flight simulation or about the release of something that will be ready in months?.

By the way, did they mention when the World Update XIX for MSFS2020 will be finally released?.

As long as people are willing to pay to be Beta testers, I don't blame the companies for taking advantage of it.

A lot of people argued the launch would be fine, and that those saying things looked dicey, were wrong. I said the sim was not ready for release, and Jorg confirmed it was awful

- Who said the launch would be fine? All I remember people disagreeing with you was the tech alpha was not just a telemetry test as claimed, and was actually the final build. I think you’re the one moving the goalposts here.

- Did Jorg say the sim was awful or the launch was awful?

Seb, who is the CEO of Asobo said streaming was a necessity from a technical standpoint and he gave very good reasons why

Hi,

A necessity for them and their bottom line, not for us! A 1.4TB download of MSFS2024 onto a 4TB drive that cost less than $300.00 is not that big of a deal now a days! He claims a 25 hour download, how long did we all wait day one for streaming???

Streaming is in their best interest due to the fly overs... the kiddies that have or get x-box for Christmas or their birthday along with 2024 and get bored within a week and are gone off to a shoot'em up game. They get the initial sale and don't have to worry about server load, they don't want us constantly hammering their servers. I believe the only reason we'll now see additional download options is due to the outcry from the flight sim community.

This was worse than the 2020 release, you can see it in their body language in their last two videos. They don't look like they got much sleep lately!

Thats your take on it..

Him looking the way he did is showing people that he is actually taking responsibility and displays the seriousness of the situation. You can read it as people being mean.. Or you can read it as people being angry at the release process and the current state of the sim vs what the marketing team pushed to the public.

I know your relatively  ok with the current state of affairs and i fully respect that but quite a few of us would have preferred having a better experience out the box and it didn't happen.. depending on how much they are invested in this sim you are going to have people who have a right to express their disappointment and want to ensure that their disappointment is received, understood and worked on.  Jorgs behavior and remarks indicate that the message was received and correctly "read the room". No one who is upset is expecting to see a smiling people talking up the virtues of the sim and ignoring the multitude of issues and grievances that they have or are experiencing .. that has to be addressed.

Definitely agree that laughing it off wouldn’t have worked, but as far as tone goes, I’d expect ‘somber reflection’ as they talk about the launch to satisfy people. If actually the room thinks that’s not enough and the only thing that will make them happy is seeing Jorg near depression for the whole meeting, then no, I don’t think that’s proportionate to the mistakes made. I think there’s something wrong with the room.

You have it all wrong, Mike. We use these sims for years and years and in that time we stream far more than 1.4TBs of data. You noticed their body language but did you also notice them saying the issue they had at launch was not the servers but the CDNs being overloaded? If 2020 got a sudden influx of users and the infrastructure wasn't prepared, it would have a lot of the same issues, even though it puts more of its assets on our storage devices. As I told someone else earlier, download options were ALWAYS on the table. They advertised this as far back as FSExpo so its inclusion has zero to do with any outrage.

Also, that gate-keeper attitude does nothing good for the sim or the hobby. We need those "kiddies" since the add revenue that makes the sim better, and a lot of them end up becoming serious about the hobby like us.

Jorg is feeling the pain and he certainly isn't looking to laugh this off. This isn't just to appease the flight sim masses, just look at the body language! Right from the start Jorg has his shoulders slumped, head and chin down toward his chest... That podcast was very uncomfortable for him. As for Sebastian, the man looks very tired, wouldn't surprise me if he didn't get much sleep lately. As for the third guy, couldn't tell one way or the other.

I just hope the offline option happens, would love to re buy!

Plane's clocks even? I doubt so.

Yep, I just tested.  I hit ESC and let it sit for 5 minutes.  Hit ESC again and sure enough my aircraft clock is now 5 minutes behind real world.  So it appears to have truly paused everything including ATC and AI.   This is 2020 again.

Just circling back...

What you must always do is respect others’ opinions even those you disagree with. Some posts don’t show that respect

My apologies if I’ve missed some posts, but your calls on the MSFS forums do all seem to ask for respect in one direction. People saying they think 2024 is great have been called apologists, kool-aid drinkers, even bootlickers, but I’m not sure I’ve seen you reminding those commenters of their obligations?

1. It comes out to the same thing only I'll have an offline option where the flight doesn't freeze until a connection is reestablished.

2. Exactly, we were told the download option would be available and it wasn't there day one... a reason for outcry. Don't remember them saying anything about 100% streaming only on day one.

3. Doesn't change the fact that this was one of the motivating factor for streaming the content. Initial sale and low server use/demand by the Christmas and Birthday users.

I’m sure he didn’t get where he is without the resilience to get over it, but that genuinely sounds a bit worrying. I mean, even if you’re not interested in people’s health and are at the ‘baying for blood’ end of the feedback spectrum, does anyone really think the solution is to have the project lead fall into a state of depression?

Yeah, that's not a good thing for anyone!

1. that point negates your third point. Your flight shouldn't freeze since the sim has had a rolling cache from day one.

2. Content is tied to the marketplace and we were informed that the marketplace would be delayed before launch
