Presented with all the successful work they’ve done on the ground physics, flight physics, turbulence models (ok, not that one yet😅), EFB/charts, walk arounds etc.etc., I’m not sure ‘they’re going for the X-box kiddies’ is anywhere near a reasonable conclusion.

They are connected, because the entire product is a mess. I remember watching a dev stream and while demoing one of the planes multiple things weren’t working, and he was just trying to dance around them. This was maybe a week before launch. Hey, at least Jorg admitted the launch was awful. Those were his exact words. Pretty embarrassing. 

Here’s hoping they fix this thing within a few months.

Nope. The product needs a LOT of work, but even in its current state it’s great.

Yes, the launch, especially the first 12 hours, was a shambles and I don’t think anyone has ever denied that. My experience with it now is a world apart from my experience with it on the first day.

Edit: Just out of interest, what are your personal criteria to mark the product 'fixed'?

Don't think he has one. Check his post history. Every single post since launch has been nothing but negativity, misery, clown remarks. Think he's just getting a kick out of complaining at this point.

No it isn't, parts of it are a mess. The first two days of the launch was certainly a mess. Now though it is showing itself to be a great sim, only to get better as the bugs are sorted.

Yep I have renewed hope now that the message got through from the community, Jorg was very apologetic throughout and looked very despondent during the whole Q&A. He gets it, he understands our frustrations, he now needs his team to deliver on the fixes however and that's the most important thing going forward.

Hm, I do think most of the negativity and moaning about MSFS2024 comes from the deep desire for MSFS2024 to succeed...! They all want MSFS2024 to be totally awesome and they are frustrated it isn't (yet)! Been there, done that. I've posted some pretty negative stuff in my life but almost always it was because I loved the product I moaned about so much and wanted it to be what was promised so I could fully enjoy it. Usually it was pure frustratition driven by pure desire. And love. I mean, RobJC ends his post with 'Here’s hoping they fix this thing within a few months' and not 'I hope MS Asobo and their game rot in hell'.

Having said that: it's a shame and quite odd really that so many people are complaining about MSFS2024... while at the same time they apparently are enjoying MSFS2020... or XP... or P3D, FSX, Aerofly, whatever...! Hundreds of thousands of people are enjoying flight simming nowadays, I doubt the flight sim community has ever been so alive and kicking...! And believe me: this is ALL thanks to MS Asobo who started the revival with MSFS2020!

So I do indeed think that what so many people call hate towards MSFS204 and/or MS Asobo is really frustration and, at the core, LOVE. We should keep that in the back of our minds when we are discussing (!!!) MSFS2024 and anything flight sim related.

Try to disable raytracing shadows. 
That helps with my RTx 4070ti super.

I haven’t seen the stream yet so I’ll just assume for the moment that you’re right and he did look despondent for an hour.

And, perspective differences aside, I find it very sad that you think the right way to get you want is to push people into despondency, and when you get that it gives you hope. That’s really not healthy for anybody.

Absolutely, a lot of complaining and negativity does come from a deep place of passion, because only passion for a product would make a person spend that much time and mental energy on something, for better or worse. Not going to hail myself as a beacon of positivity and inclusivity, I've done my fair share of complaining. However, there's also a magical boundary where a supposed adult needs to take a step back and moderate that 'passion'. Incessantly complaining like a big child , using every opportunity to make some drive-by quip with zero substance, bringing down every thread with the same moody, gloomy attitude about absolutely everything, like a walking depression, that also starts effecting everyone around them and making the very community they are in a more miserable place, then someone ought to be ashamed of themselves. 

And again, I implore you to look at the biggest detractor's post history. You start to see a pattern of what I described in the latter part of the above, more so than anything useful or constructive. 

There's a chasm of difference between actual constructive feedback, pointing out faults, keeping Asobo on their feet and being able to bring a nuanced opinion to the table and then whatever some individuals have been doing here lately. That's bordering on mental obsession when every post, every comment, their very presence is just a big, fat rain cloud on the forums. 

And I agree, flight sim community has never been this alive, vibrant and full of choice and it's amazing!

I find it quite strange that certain people thought that was it for 2024 development.  It was obvious the MS/Asobo team would have been mortified at the launch issues, as it was obvious they would work hard to sort out the bugs.

It was nice for the team to apologise for the launch, but needing to see despondency before accepting they are on the case is strange.
