Watching this stream, their faces say everything you need to know. If you watch back on other streams, Jorg has a different personality. It's pretty clear they know they bombed this. Whether or not they can correct the ship is yet to be seen. It's a shame.

First thing I've noticed too. Like being after a week of sleepless night, risking to be kicked by bosses or customers at the same time. I'd say I appreciated his honesty anyway, no big excuses, just a clear "we ducked up the launch, sorry for that".

Give it some time, and I guess it's gonna get better.

  • Presented with all the successful work they’ve done on the ground physics, flight physics, turbulence models (ok, not that one yet😅), EFB/charts, walk arounds etc.etc., I’m not sure ‘they’re going for

People are allowed to vent and debate

In a respectful manner, which rarely happens when internet warriors join the party. Even in these forums it was suggested heads should roll, lol. Kind of sad actually.

I’m looking forward to the patch next week. Glad they mentioned littlenavmap for those that use it. Thought the free planes were a nice gesture.

Interesting to also see there will be quite a few surprise announcements in 2025. Gotta love those!

Was really interesting to see the development of the planner. Might be able to give navigraph some good competition at this rate.

I wonder if 3rd party ATC inclusion or Working Title developed ATC will be one of them 🙂

I have a feeling and an NDA is keeping them from spilling the beans.

I would really encourage everyone here and on the stream chat to remain civil. It's okay to be frustrated and as a consumer to feel let down by a corporation and/or product that we invested our hard earned money into. However, the stream is a fluid presentation. They never suggested anyone should just buy a new GPU, on the contrary they quickly noted the comments in the chat that users with 4090's were experiencing the same issue and committed to work to identify the issue within the next 24 hours.

I watched the stream for about 20 minutes and was completely and utterly dismayed by the content of the comments I was reading. We are very lucky that after the unmitigated disaster that was the MSFS 2024 launch that they are even having a livestream. This is not an opportunity for them to "face the music" or for us to collectively yell in their faces. It would be much easier for them as a company to do away with these livestream events and instead hunker down with little/no communication as many other companies do.

I want to be clear I am not being an apologist for ASOBO or Jorg's mismanagement of this launch. If we wish to continue to see this level of transparency for the leadership I would strongly encourage people to take a deep breath and instead engage in CIVIL discourse.

Hardware limitation for the VRAM bug? Really. So I guess that when screw us who exceed the recommended specs and have the issue right?

My jaw dropped when I saw that.

When my 4080 and other people’s 4090s are running into issues, it’s not a hardware issue.  They need to rethink that response right away.

They did if I read the comments further above correctly.

I think that was a legitimite foot in mouth moment and likely a conversation that someone will have with them. The response from the chat was immediate and you could see Jorg/Marcielle cringe when they heard that. Which is why they quickly pivoted and noted "In the chat it looks like people with 4090's are having this issue as well....we will look into this and try to identify the issue within the next 24 hours". Again, I would like to be optimistic that nothing nefarious was occuring due to the quick pivot by the other two participants, I think it was just a poorly worded response by Seb.

Anyone have a link? I don't see it in YouTube. As critical of 2024 as I am it's good to see they appear to be actively working on concerns. Will have to give them plenty of time. I foresee staying with 2020 for several months while it is being updated.

NVM, found it. 😉

I am very critical of MS/ASOBO and especially of Jorg Neumann. I do not share the myth that some like to spread of him being powerless in the face of his superiors.
I therefore consider it all the more positive that the stream - as several have already noted - gave the impression that he may have realized that his development plan could perhaps be a little more geared to the expectations of the users. At least that is what I conclude from the way he seemed embarrassed to present the ambitious plans for 2025, which of course consist of more of the same. I would have found it even more positive if the "more of the same" orgy had been limited in favor of bug fixes, but that is probably too much wishful thinking.
Otherwise, as expected, I took from the stream that for me MSFS2024 will probably replace 2020 much later than I initially thought, because most of the "800" (according to Jorg) people who are supposed to be involved in the development will be busy creating more content. The bug fixes will be done at the usual pace by those who are left.
No big deal, apart from the new lighting engine and perhaps improved flight characteristics, I won't miss much at first and can postpone the necessary upgrade of my system.

What a non-sense, instead of being happily flying MSFS2020, people are worried about the "not-yet-finished-and-yet-not-compatible" MSFS2024. Is this a hobby about flight simulation or about the release of something that will be ready in months?.

By the way, did they mention when the World Update XIX for MSFS2020 will be finally released?.
