Most of the users complaining about the sound would have had zero experience of the cockpit environment in the real aircraft. They expected it to sound like the passenger cabin of a 737 or similar air

What makes this plane my favourite is that I can't think of any other airliner that feels like it wants to kill you if you let it. Hand-flying approaches means throwing the yoke around like you'r

Just completed a short flight from LSZH to EDDF in MSFS 2024. Unlike @Wothan, I didn't have any issues selecting SIDs and STARs -- however, I was on the default navdata that was installed with the addon. I didn't try entering the departure or destination manually (I imported the flight plan from Simbrief).

Here's how to deal with navdata for this:

I watched a video of a pilot years ago on why they love the plane (the video is posted above) and I still love that video.

It's a great video haha

Still, this plane is going to remain on my to-buy-eventually-list.

It definitely should, as for discounts, I haven't seen one yet unfortunately.

Does it have windshield wiping effects when raining? Just curious.

Nope 😛

I heard the sounds from youtube video and they're alright to me, comparing videos from a pilot perspective. I love older airliners because there is so much more workload as opposed to modern planes, I feel. This is why the 146 and Avro are my favorites.

the atmospheric sounds like avionics cooling fans, packs, electrics etc. are all great. It's really the engine sounds where it falters, especially outside. Though yeah I agree, the classics really make simming that much more interesting. Since I moved to VR the workload feels even more heightened, still a little fearful of giving the 727  a go in VR despite being pretty good with it on flat-screen.

Thanks for posting and being honest about this. This is rare on this site as people just post/bash etc.

No problem, I feel being objective only helps us as consumers make more informed decisions when we're going to purchase something.

What makes this plane my favourite is that I can't think of any other airliner that feels like it wants to kill you if you let it.

Hand-flying approaches means throwing the yoke around like you're angry with it. Engines will flame out if you push them too hard, but they also respond so slow which means you have to show them you mean it. The TRP put me in so many close calls taking off than I care to admit - albeit that one is on me. You can easily shut down your engines and/or kill everyone on board just by not flicking the right switch. It's just so much fun.

Got it up and running last night, all good and got as far as engine start before bed.  Tonight I’ll humble myself and go for a flight…I’m going to be super rusty! 😀

Or did I imagine that?

They did say down the line they intend on releasing a new update with that.  But I haven't seen anything to suggest that's anywhere near release.

Btw. in case you have not seen: the Maddog will be on sale in simmarket (for the first time afaik). Time to buy for those (like me) who seemingly waited forever to this moment!

Sale is nice but I bought it back in May 2022. Worth every penny for me even with the lacking default sounds and not being one of the more better detailed  looking models in MSFS. Its still one of the most detailed systems modeled airliners in MSFS.

Its available in your simmarket-account. Free for Download, when you have purchased the MSFS2020 Version.
Also FS2Crew is available for MSFS2024

Does anyone know if I buy this on sale will I get both 2020 and 2024 version? I’m sorely tempted!
