I downloaded the latest NVDIA driver last night as well as the latest version of the NVDIA app.

The App still did not detect MSFS 2024.

So I decided to do a complete uninstall of the NVDIA app and then re installed the app.

After launching the fresh install, MSFS 2024 was detected and optimized.......

It seems just upgrading the app to the latest version does not help, complete uninstall followed by fresh install did the trick for me....

I've never used the nvidia app, what are the benefits for a program like MSFS?

Same.  Found it immediately.

I'll admit I didn't delve into it deeply but my first experience with the Nvidia app - it's "optimization" reset my settings so that the whole performance and visuals were worse than my manual settings.  I uninstalled it.

Same here. I preferred NVidia Control panel over this Nvidia app. Off it went and entered my preferred settings manually again.

It's the only app on my system that allows to take screenshots when my MSFS is windowed (I have an ultra-wide monitor) without the border and screenshoting natively only the MSFS window. Very convenient. The ShadowPlay video recording is performing very well on my system.

Obviously, as what it seems a majority of users, I have disable the auto-tuning performance feature of nvidia App as it's not relevant.

What are "3 new optimal settings"? Where are they?

There are no new settings if you mean specific graphics variables, rather there are "3 new optimized settings profiles". The new optimized profiles are for MS Farm Sim, MS Flightsim2024, and STALKER2: Heart of Chornobyl

yep I just had to do the same, upgrade didn't work, fresh uninstall/reinstall and voila MSFS24 appears as if by magic. Not that I use this app for "optimising" anyway it's just handy for doing driver updates.

Unfortunately for me the latest Nvidia driver has introduced serious sound glitches in the sim, so annoying that I've had to revert to an earlier version of the driver to remove them and now the filters do not work once again. Sigh....

And now, without being able to use the Nvidia app to set a frame rate limit, I'm back to not being able to set a limit in NVCP because I get the dreaded error message "you don't have permission to access this file". Sigh again....

I'll wait now for the next driver and see if the sound glitch issue is fixed.

Ken

What if you install the driver WITHOUT the HD audio driver? I never install this as I do not need it and I have no sound issues.

Haven't thought of that; I'll give that a go. Thanks for the tip, we'll see if that works.

Ken

Well, that worked as far as the audio, it elimated the sound issues I was having. Unfortunately, the latest driver introduced some microstutters into the equation. Can't seem to settle on a set and forget setup here. 🙂
