However I just bought 32 more. Do you all see a big difference with 64gb?

Yes, if you use mods specifically (FSHUD, GSX, ect), vanilla runs great with 32gb like VeryBumpy stated.

We had a long thread not long ago;

Very broad consensus that 64GB made 2020 smoother, even a video with evidence to back that up. Weird thing is, it's not because it was using up all of the 32GB of RAM, even working below that limit, 64GB saw an improvement. So interesting to see down the road if that applies to 2024 as well.

I get 120fps with only 32GB no issues @ 1440P

You need to increase the level of detail. That will bring the framerate down to a more sensible level :wink:

Very glad I went from 32 to 64. There was certainly a noticeable difference with 2020 so I would expect a difference to 2024 too. I'm so glad I only updated my ram and not my GPU in preparation for 2024!

Pretty sure Seb said 64GB was only really 'needed' if you liked to have other large background programs running at the same time, like if you were a streamer for example.  So I'm not surprised the sim runs fine with 32GB.

It wont if you use mods. I had only 32gb and upgraded to 64. Running the sim plus FSHUD and GSX would place me close to 40 gigs at times. Kept crashing at spots using the mods and getting horrendous FPS drops until I upgraded.

I just upgraded to 64gb from 32Gb. Started maxing out the 32gb with stutters with fenix and a few add on airports I’m using in 2024. 64gb has improved 2024 for me.

Yeah I think I'm going to have to upgrade as well even though I was trying to hold out to put together a new mobo/cpu/ddr5 by mid-2025.  I'm constantly running at 28-30.5GB in use and that's without BATC or trying to stream with OBS or something.

i play in 1080p i have 32gb with settings ultra and i never seen msfs use over 18 gb  while vram can use easily 12 gb

I should have been clearer in my post, I've never seen it use more than about 18 either, but along with what windows and other open apps are using combined I was hitting over 30.  i just did a test though and noticed it will use less if other stuff on the system is using more.  I opened up OBS in addition and did a bandwidth test mode stream which is basically a stream that doesn't show up live for viewing and instead of using 18ish the sim was using about 16.5 and basically had reduced its usage by the amount OBS was using.  However I had OBS open first so I don't know if the sim would have dynamically reduced its usage.  It didn't start using more when I closed OBS with the sim open.
