f I was FNX, I would seriously be having an internal conversation on whether or not to take the risk and develop a NEO or 330 right over the top of FSL (if I had access and all the background stuff).

I'd stop even tinkering with the idea of buying a FSL NEO the literal moment Fenix announces one themselves.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

  • As someone who flies the A320 family IRL, worked with Fenix, and also was privileged enough to be given a pre-release copy of FSL to stream, i can give a somewhat balanced view/opinion. Firstly,

Completely agree - a Fenix A320NEO + A321NEO/LR/XLR would be incredible. That said, if FSL get there first that would be fine too as that is actually a market gap.

We really need some more variety of high quality modern airliners. A320CEOs are not gone yet but their numbers are starting to dwindle a bit from the carriers I like to fly. BA no longer have A321CEOs (except Euroflyer at Gatwick), they're all NEOs now at Heathrow and more and more A320NEOs in the fleet. Some routes can only be operated by NEOs due to performance limitations.

I tried the iniBuilds A320NEO again last night and as much as I want to like it, it just doesn't feel right after I have spent hundreds of hours in the Fenix and PMDG 737/777. It flares funny, they got numerous light bugs that MS need to push an update for since months ago (some cockpit lights not working and the strobes flashing into the flight deck, which is extremely annoying when flying at night).

Also tried the Horizon B787 the other day and again, it's great for a freeware aircraft, the visuals are very nice but it just doesn't cut it for me as there are some pretty big immersion killers like the AP doing funky things from time to time, weird brake/autobrake behaviour and it just doesn't feel as refined as the few advanced options we have .

100% agree with anything you said.

What do you mean "not fully modelled"? Is it missing a landing gear or what?

I always create my wing views from the flight deck camera.

This is what it looks like if you go outside of the flight-deck. There is no cabin and no textures.

For this they will need to get hold of the relatively new prosim neo.

Yes; that is a little annoying for wing views.  The cockpit experience/immersion is very good however.

Inibuilds? Are you serious???

There are a handful of top tier tubeliners out there and even fewer developers. Its pmdg, fenix, leonardo and now fslabs. And even they have some shortcomings, especially when it comes to the flight model.

Putting the likes of a inibuilds or justflight at the same bracket, does first and foremost disservice to them.

I'm curious.. where does JF's latest releases fall short?

already posted  on  their  forum looks like this is only  a low resolution  cabin  at  this  stage  and  later  on a more  higher  fidelity cabin will be  added  with different  configuations

I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card,  RM850 power supply

Yeah, but my issue is mostly with the engine textures. I don't care about the cabin, but I guess it will be solved when this higher fidelity cabin is available.

Try an engine failure….

Top tier addons can do more than just fly A to B.

I'm confused..? The 146 support randomized, time-based, probability-based and instant failures for a plethora of system of areas including.. the engines. In fact there's around 120 things (give or take) you can fail. Said failures then retroactively affect the appropriate systems, pneumatic, electric buses etc like you would expect in the real aircraft. This feature set is planned to be released for the F28 and recently released RJ series in upcoming updates. All 3 are by all intents and purposes.. high fidelity in-line with the developers you mentioned.

Are you confused with a different developer?

14 pages an not one comment regarding performance. Unless I missed it, which is entirely possible.

How do the FPS compare to the Fenix? Anyone able to just compare the two at the same airport and settings?

You are wrong - see page 9, although info is very brief.

Mmm… did you ever try to fail ( or switch off for that matter) one of the fuel pumps? do you know what will happen? Do you know what SHOULD happen as per FCOM? (hint: not the same thing). That’s just one example…

Don’t get me wrong. The 146 is a nice addon for what it is but it’s not in the league of, say, the maddog. Don’t think its creators intended it to have that sort of system depth either that’s why I said that putting them together is an injustice to the former.

Anyway, my point was that there are really very few top tier addons. And we’re getting way off the topic.
