Austin Meyer is probably a good engineer, but he is lousy at marketing X-Plane. When folks started getting unhappy about the state of P3D, he had a once in a lifetime opportunity to step in and significantly increase market share. Many addons started appearing, folks were modding X-Plane.

But he didn't take advantage of that opportunity.

Wow - I have never seen any SIM look so realistic!

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Is it just me, but I've noticed that the sim runs better now after the update when you pop out the G1000 screens in the C172? Before the update the FPS would take a major hit when I did this, but not now.

No, seriously. What was this?  It was obviously melting a snowflake somewhere.

I can't tell the difference in regards to performance with this update but graphically the sim looks very cartoonish. Also the blurry textures and the PG not loading properly is baffling because I fired up MSFS2020 and PG is loading properly and the textures look more crisp.

Overall 2024 is a dumpster fire. It's still shocks me that a company as huge as MS would release software to consumers that would barely pass for an early alpha build.

I have definitely seen a positive result in performance however , PG is a blurry mess.

RAM usage did seem higher and I got some stutters at first.

Deleted the Nvidia Shader cache per instructions here on the forums.

Updated the nvgx_dlss and nvgx_dlssg files in the Limitless install directory from version 3.7.20 to version 3.8.10.

Deleted the contents of the cache and scenery index folders in APPDATA\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Another Reboot.

And running very smooth now.

You're not the first person to mention to delete the DLSS and install new one.

Stupid question as I have recently bought a new Video Card that accept DLSS, so it's new for me, where can we download the various DLSS version ?

Is there any good tutorial somewhere to explain that ?

Thanks

I have a request if anyone has a moment. Can you set up a default A333 at the default EGGP airport and check your FPS and performance? Cheers.

Just loaded up, even with FG on it did have some really weird choppiness I haven't seen before. So something odd is going on in that scenario.

I'm enjoying MSFS 2024 immensely. Of course it"s not "mature enough" - it's a brand new sim!

Folks who are scared of the New should really stick with MSFS 2020.

It’s not about being scared.  It’s about dependability.  With as scarce time as I have, I don’t want to get set for a flight only to run into issues.  That’s simply not fun, enjoyable, or good use of time regardless of how “much more” realistic it feels/appears.

strongly recommend DLSS swapper at https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper

It is IMO self explanatory. download the desired DLSS version (I always use the latest) first via that tool and then apply to MSFS. You need to do this every time the launcher is updated through MS Store / Steam

Why can't you?

I can, it takes about 2 to 2 and a half days to reinstall that monster and associated programs. I kind of dread going through that again that's all. One very nice thing about 2024 is its small footprint.
