Does anyone have an idea on how to remove the "Your last session ended unexpectedly" screen from startup? I've hit continue and/or safe mode, enabled the library and every time I start the sim I get this screen.

Any help appreciated.

This has to be some kind of bug, I get it every launch.  Sometimes I have had Event Viewer show an actual crash, but even if there is no crash I still get the message as well.  Stuff in Community or not doesn't matter.

Thanks for your response.

I'm hoping it is a bug, as I can't come up with a solution for the life of me. Including a complete reinstall.

Yep, also I should have clarified, the Event Viewer crashes I'm talking about are on exiting the sim, not CTD's while using it.  I also haven't seen any of those since yesterday but I've only been in a few times to enable/disable some of the streaming packages.  Even if I just start the sim then exit from the menu without doing a flight or anything it will give the same message next time.  I even deleted everything in StreamedPackages, scenery indexes, and cache just to make sure nothing corrupted was there.  I thought maybe it was related to not having my Bravo connected because the afc_bridge utility for the lights will crash if it's not connected, and it's in the exe.xml file to load at startup but even with it connected it didn't matter.

I couldn't find a bug report or anything for the Safe Mode prompt appearing every launch but I know I've seen a few others here mention it as well since the patch yesterday.  Feel free to add to this https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/safe-mode-prompt-every-launch-since-yesterdays-patch/685168

I've just notived that RAM usage has increased since Dec 9th. I got 64Gigs 2 months ago. Up until now. EGLL idle usage was ~32 Gig. Now it shot up to 45 Gig usage.

Thought I'd add to the bug report. Got this ...Error: the 'login' modal needs updating to work with the latest version of Discourse. See https://meta.discourse.org/t/268057.

Unfortunately, MSFS2024, in its current state, even after this update, is in jeopardy with Jorg Neumann and his programmers at the wheel. Something has to give. It is obvious that people are willing to spend the money, and they like the idea of this software very much, but what the ASOBO team does is beyond gross negligence. Even MSFS2020 has its bugs, but this MSFS2024 is something very "special" with so many. It is so upsetting to see so many problems, especially after four years of a very similar "engine" as it is in MSFS2020. It is really very tiring to hear the same broken statements we heard with the 2020: "give them time, they will fix it, they had to meet a deadline, etc." It's about time for them to snap out of this mentality, make swift positive changes, and stop this money grab.

I can't agree because it's ALSO working for many. I won't go back, and so far, I like what they've delivered.

When I fly it like any of my other civ flight sims, it's giving me a better experience.

No reason to call for heads on pikes, and certainly no justification to call it a cash grab / scam.

I strongly disagree.

Apart from some buggy default aircraft, the sim (for me) *just works*.

That's quite all right. We disagree.
As you mentioned, it is OK for you, but as you can see in abundance here, it is not for others.
Besides so many issues, people are complaining. Out of curiosity, do the flight controls keep your settings, and were you able to save different profiles for different airplanes and start as such? The reasoning behind this question is that there are many complaints about this issue, and we, three airline pilots with different computers, can't sort it out despite all the YouTube videos and other tutorials.

MSFS2024 is a work in progress - just like other iterations of the MSFS franchise (or any flight sim). Let's give them a chance!

Many people are tired of this "work in progress" statement that has been vehiculated since ASOBO four years ago launched MS2020. Four years later, we have the same "Groundhog Day" nonsense again.

Not sure what you mean?  your link seems to go nowhere.  If it's my link that wasn't working, I edited it to paste the plain text version.  Avsim was doing some smart link thing when I'd just paste it.  maybe you weren't logged in to the MSFS forums though if that's the case.  Their forums are weird like that I've noticed.

We do. And that's all right with me.

I recognize that. Obviously there wouldn't be so many negative posts if things were working perfectly.

The controls setup gave me a major headache. I nearly gave up on it, then I watched a YT tutorial, and things were fine after that. I've setup different profiles now for GA mixture, prop as well as airliners (2 engines, 4 engines) and the settings seem to stick.

I get that. Not saying that everything is perfect - but I feel I've gotten 2024 to a stage now that I can use most of my favourite addons, aircraft and scenery relatively successfully.

This might explain all the stuttering and poor performance many are now having, including myself.

Anyone else sitting at 6% loading language since this update? Before my sim would boot right up after I did the time sync. Now I spend the majority of my time 6%.

I have seen the same.

Bert

RAM usage did seem higher and I got some stutters at first.

Deleted the Nvidia Shader cache per instructions here on the forums.

Updated the nvgx_dlss and nvgx_dlssg files in the Limitless install directory from version 3.7.20 to version 3.8.10.

Deleted the contents of the cache and scenery index folders in APPDATA\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Another Reboot.

And running very smooth now.

I can't tell the difference in regards to performance with this update but graphically the sim looks very cartoonish. Also the blurry textures and the PG not loading properly is baffling because I fired up MSFS2020 and PG is loading properly and the textures look more crisp.

Overall 2024 is a dumpster fire. It's still shocks me that a company as huge as MS would release software to consumers that would barely pass for an early alpha build.
