Actually nothing to do with the patch, but that is what I hate about PM. Yesterday I flew some mission from the Career Mode, and there was a city in vicinity. It looked terrible. Would have much more preferred to have some generic buildings.

Well you could ague it's one area that they could have improved on over the 4 years of 2020 and should be patched at some point. But, yeah it's not of primary concern with 2024 and it's issues I suppose.

System 1: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.2GHz, 2x16GB DDR4 2600MHz CL18 RAM, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 512GB, Seagate 2TB HDD, Windows 11 Pro 64bit, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog.

System 2: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.7GHz, 2 x 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM, ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX5090 OC, 2 x 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0, Crucial T705 2TB Gen5 M.2, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Moza AB9 with Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Stick, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Throttle Quadrant.

Unfortunately, MSFS2024, in its current state, even after this update, is in jeopardy with Jorg Neumann and his programmers at the wheel. Something has to give. It is obvious that people are willing to spend the money, and they like the idea of this software very much, but what the ASOBO team does is beyond gross negligence. Even MSFS2020 has its bugs, but this MSFS2024 is something very "special" with so many. It is so upsetting to see so many problems, especially after four years of a very similar "engine" as it is in MSFS2020. It is really very tiring to hear the same broken statements we heard with the 2020: "give them time, they will fix it, they had to meet a deadline, etc." It's about time for them to snap out of this mentality, make swift positive changes, and stop this money grab.

Please read my post again. It's not that hard to understand. I do not want predicted weather, I want the most recent known weather.

I understand perfectly. If you set the sim time in the future, you are asking the weather system to give you real-world METAR observations that do not yet exist. You are asking for something that is literally impossible to provide. If you want “the most recent known weather”, then simply leave the sim time set to current real time - not a future time.

Please at least get the man's name correctly when criticising hard, Jorg Neumann. 😞

Current real-world METAR observations do not exist...? Because that's what I want.

And no, I fly real scheduled flights and if the flight is scheduled to be 2 hours in the future, I will use that time in-sim.

Why are you making this so hard? There's *no* benefit to give the 24h old weather if you set the time in the future, so why not change it to the most recent weather available? Why do you not want that change?

Really? I’ve been waiting for that to get fixed 😂 good to know. Thanks!

But here lies another issue.  Apparently they can now fix the aircraft server side without us having to download anything (makes sense looking at the way the sim now works).

So sometimes now there will be silent updates that we don't know about - what are we supposed to do?
Either gain psychic ability or keep trying once in a while in hope that a particular bug is fixed?

Once again, there seems to be no joined up thinking.
This was raised by simmers at the last developer stream anyway to see if they can at least release patch notes to us for these 'silent fixes'.
The answer was (paraphrasing) - 'we will look into it'.

Does anyone have an idea on how to remove the "Your last session ended unexpectedly" screen from startup? I've hit continue and/or safe mode, enabled the library and every time I start the sim I get this screen.

Any help appreciated.

The game should be taken off the market and refunds issued what a disgrace.

You may check your cache settings. Mine was set to 0.0 after update.

I asked for 16GB from the UI but it ran without ending, so I killed FS and clean the cache myself.

Since that it closes nicely (no need to kill it anymore) and have back a working cache.

I would be delighted if Asobo simply added an option to Live Weather “do not use historical weather”. Then you would get the actual current weather no matter what time was set, just as MSFS 2020 currently does.

I was answering the question as to why the weather reverts 24 hours if you set the time in the future as the system is currently implemented. Asobo certainly can (and should) make the use of historical weather optional, not mandatory.

Alright seems like we've just completely talked past each other. I apologize for my contribution to that.
Me too I would much prefer weather and time to be decoupled. This would solve a lot of issues, including mine

I've had good luck moving the date forward and getting live weather. For example, if I set the date to December 12 (tomorrow), and pick a time I get the today's live weather. If that makes any sense.

The frustration comes when this Sim should've been on par or above that of MSFS2020 as of SU15, but instead we got the usual great steps forward in some aspects but mostly annoying step backwards in many others.

Ultimately, server issues aside, the release overall is a very poor one with the vast number of bugs and blatant regression and ignoring of VR. But this subject has been done to death and I'm as bored talking about as are my fanclub here hearing me bang on about it! Still, the official forums show I'm certainly not the only VR user extremely word not allowed off with Jorg/Martial right now.

Anyway, I'll continue to use MSFS24 in some ways, but it's a poor product overall so I won't waste too much time with it as there's other more capable developers out there that deserve my attention (non flight sim).

Ultimately it should've been better, but alas we'll have to yet again wait for Sim Updates to eventually fix what should've been fixed before release, rince & repeat.
