While the release was far worse than anticipated, I think some people here love complaining more than flight simming. A few love regurgitating their pet peeves and some spectacularly bad takes on every thread.

You make a good point. I think everyone's results vary, kind of like the previous sim up until around SU15. After SU15 things were smoother, I'd say. Less CTD's, less stutters, autofps/dynamiclod was released some time after. Then we get this? It's a mess at times. 2024 is really good.

Did some pattern work in PADU with the RJ100 for a while. NSS Padu airport works well with it, too.

Think sticking to GA planes right now in 2024 is a good idea. Airliners/complex stuff in 2020 for me.

Let's be clear, low level flying looks better as long as you steer clear of any built up area's! So grass, rocks, trees (though way to many) do look better, but venture into somewhere like Las Vegas and it is no different  to MSFS2020 and looks terrible. Trying to land helicopters on buildings with helipads is broken also.

Should note they have improved the airport night lighting substantially.

So some European users are claiming the photogrammetry for some European cities in MSFS 2024 is better than MSFS 2020. I didn't really fly around Europe in MSFS 2020 very much so I can't really vouch for this.

You are right though that the photogrammetry for cities in MSFS 2024 can be the same as MSFS 2020.  I do fly around the Vancouver (Canada) metro area and I can confirm the photogrammetry for MSFS 2024 for Vancouver looks about the same as the World Canada Update in MSFS 2020.  However, there are things in MSFS 2024 that make metro Vancouver look better in MSFS 2024 than MSFS 2020.  The first thing are the trees.  The trees in metro Vancouver in MSFS 2024 better reflect the actual trees around metro Vancouver than in MSFS 2020.  Vancouver simply looks better in MSFS 2024 with the more accurate trees.

Secondly, there are patches of land around metro Vancouver, especially around the Delta and Surrey areas.  Note that Delta and Surrey are probably considered to be suburbs in metro Vancouver so that's why there are patches of land there. The patches of land in MSFS 2024 look far more accurate and realistic, so it makes Delta and Surrey look more realistic in MSFS 2024, than MSFS 2020.

I am also using Sam Scene City 3D Vancouver City Times so I don't seem to have any problems with the buggy oversize trees in downtown Vancouver.  So for me at least, with the use of Sam Scene City 3D Vancouver City Times and MSFS 2024, metro Vancouver simply looks better because of the improved trees  and improved patches of land in MSFS 2024.

I was going to take the vision jet out for a spin last night in Japan. Could not figure out how to change the baro inHG or hPa. Gave up because I had to get some sleep before work lol.

My Blacksquare aircraft are actually working well after the update.. not sure what needs to be updated..

My understanding is that until this update there was a code problem with RPN integer division affecting over 1000 variables in the Black Square aircraft. Nick wasn't going to work around that and then have to revert once the underlying code was fixed. I understand there have been obvious bugs with things like the barometer setting that I think may now be fixed. I'm curious if after this update you notice that while they may have been working adequately before if they are working better now with the integer division fixed?

On a related note I think Nick is also planning to enhance most planes while also updating them to officially work with the new sim. I think the King Air is supposed to be getting a big update.

If in-sim time is in the future, the weather will be 24 hours old (yes you read it correctly)

I would think that is to be expected? The MeteoBlue model forecast will contain predicted weather for a certain number of hours forward from the present, but the Historical Weather feature also includes historical METARS. You can’t have METARS for a future time because they are based on actual real-world observations, not model predictions.

No you don't understand correctly.

Example: Now it's December 11th 1500 UTC. If I'd start the sim now and put the in-sim time to December 11th at 1600 UTC, I'd get weather from December 10th 1600 UTC (so yesterday). What I should get however is the most current live weather (in this case from 1500 UTC today). Weather from yesterday when I'm one hour in the future makes no sense at all and can be very problematic if you're flying on Vatsim.

What can i say... i'm loving it!

And the fact that i still have to "END TASK" the simulator whenever i quit, wow what an experience!

I had a problem with the SIM freezing when going back to the main screen  after flying any innibuilds aircraft.  After reading through several forums I tried deleting my online profile and that seems to have fixed it.....

Might be worth a try.

This is about where I am, but the Fenix in 24 works ok. I haven't really tried the new a306 compatible version yet. I do need to test out the RJ and see if I am bit by the issues folks were having.

I am taking a break from figuring out if I an update fixed something with the Native planes.

Thanks. I'll do that and see how it goes.

Might have to do with the initial corrupted data like described in some other cases.

95% of my flights in 2024 have been airliners, the sim is fine for them

Most cities look great from 1000ft+, but with a helicopter at 200ft things fall apart quickly. Third party normally are far superior.

Actually nothing to do with the patch, but that is what I hate about PM. Yesterday I flew some mission from the Career Mode, and there was a city in vicinity. It looked terrible. Would have much more preferred to have some generic buildings.

But as noted, as soon as you are in the air, 2000ft, everything is looking so real, it's incredible.

As I explained you cannot get “live” weather for a time in the future, because live weather includes METARS, and “future” METARS have not “happened” yet. METARS come from actual observations, they are not predictions.

Live weather is not just the MeteoBlue forecast model, it is the model and METAR observations I assume that is exactly why the live weather reverts back 24 hours if you set a future time in the sim

Please read my post again. It's not that hard to understand. I do not want predicted weather, I want the most recent known weather.
