iFLY Status Report on MSFS24 work and SP1

Yeah, it's gonna be a while before more of my airplanes make the move to 24.

For some yes. However,  Inbuilds for example pretty much figured it out. I predominantly flying their native A300 for 2024 and it runs great including tear and wear. There are same small issues but just like with any addon under any platform.

Another contender is JF RJ. Although JF RJ is running under 2024 it still lacks some functionality. There are no default Honeycomb Bravo bindings for autopilot control, functional EGPWS and other thing.

So yes for some developers it will be a while in 2024 but for other not!

  • Kind of vindicates what PMDG has been saying for some time but still gets slammed for by some of the regulars here.

  • My point being as others have stated, it clearly depends on how the aircraft are coded.  The problems are clearly real and not some conspiracy as some here would want to believe.

  • Nice balanced update. Clearly the developer community wants a bunch of things fixed/clarified/created.    Hopefully it’s all sorted out in the next six months.

Sort of? All the same while you have JF, ini and Fenix who’ve provided support whilst leonardo is currently working on a patch. These are just the devs off the top of my head.

Oh of course I’d never deny some issues are very real for certain devs

...they don't offer support for 2024 but they have a working double installer and the Fenix in 2024 is performing better than in 2020 for me. Nothing to whitewash for sure, but its seems a matter of the dev and its tools and processes if and how problematic their approach is. Some devs shine a bit brighter than others. But that's nothing new. Up to then we have two (or more) sims to happily fly.

Cheers T.

On the other hand, problems with the 2024 model are cropping up on their Discord page.

I've been flying in 2024 since the Fenix was compatible with zero aircraft issues other than some goofy EFB flickering on the map page.  I've only been back to 2020 twice to fly the Max8....hope it makes it into '24 soon.

Now that I've said that...I'll likely experience an issue on my next flight...

I got the '24 edition upgrade and am having some bizarre reflections in the windshield and also the rudder is turning the opposite direction at certain low speeds on ground, especially in early takeoff roll.....

Yes those reflection appeared after inbuild patch from December 20. According to inbuild forum they are aware and looking into those "ghost reflections". I do not have problem with rudder but TCAS doesn't show targets nearby LOL

AFAIK Fenix is not a WASM product, the IFLY and PMDG birds are, that is the main issue from what I understand.

It’s not, JF, iniBuilds and Leonardo are just a few devs that are WASM based.

Initially PMDG’s problem was the need for debug tools for C++ modules, that has been released but they’re still encountering some other issues.

Inibuilds being a MS partner will have a lot more experience and potentially had a line to Asobo while developing stuff for 2024.

I am increasingly happy about my decision of keeping MSFS2020 installed . I will put 2024 away and wait for all the described issues being solved, so I can migrate 2020 sceneries and aircrafts without problems.- As I only like to fly free,  dont care about missions, carreers, etc, thence, I see not great diferences between both FS versions, so I will continue by now as if 2024 never existed.

I noticed the reflection issue was caused by DLSS, when I went back to TAA the issue resolved.

I am also hoping they get this running soon. I have not purchased yet as I'm only flying in 2024. Not wanting to make any purchases until those aircraft are working.

I have been thinking of the Fenix too but I already have several Airbus aircraft in the sim already. Not sure it will bring much more to the table.

Initially those reflections bothered me a lot. But they are seem intermittent and brain learn how filtering it out until next patch LOL

Yet if that same thing was said by PMDG they would be pitchforked and roasted and accused of whining and blaming Asobo...

Not a comment against you at all just a general comment how the same message by different developers can be so differently recv'd by so many here.

So basically ifly is in the same boat as PMDG where until Asobo resolves it - things aren't going anywhere. I think they should instead focus on SP1 and get that released for MSFS 2020 users and then focus on 2024 entirely from there on.

Yes, that’s cause PMDG and Robert have earned that reputation with the way they communicate. iFly doesn’t have that reputation … yet. PMDG has been complaining and riding on past glory for a long time now.

On the other hand, I don’t really care as long as I get a fun plane to use, too much flight sim drama is tiring.
