December 31, 20241 yr From the Discord: https://discord.com/channels/1249718181149413477/1249718181694668872/1323494131820920835. Where We Are as of December 31, 2024 We are aware that many of you are anxious about the status of development for MSFS 2024, Service Pack (SP) 1 for the MAX for MSFS 2020, the MAX8-200, etc. As a matter of longstanding practice, we do not announce projected dates for release or updates to our software, but we wanted you to know in general terms where we are with these important matters. First, MSFS2024. As you may have read elsewhere, this new sim is currently very problematic for developers of high fidelity addons. Some developers have stopped work until Microsoft/Asobo are able to get MSFS 2024 to a state in which they can successfully operate. As it stands now, it’s one step forward then one or two steps back when a MSFS 2024 update releases. We are working on a MAX compatibility update (not a MSFS 2024 native product). And of course there will be bug fixes in the MSFS 2024 version of the MAX8, so long as they are compatible with that sim. We are making progress; but it’s taking an inordinate amount of time and, frankly, it’s frustrating for us. SP 1 for the MSFS 2020 MAX8 will include the compatible bug fixes from MSFS 2024, the 8-200 and cabin announcements. As we’ve said, SP1 will come after the compatibility update for MSFS 2024. Beyond the information in this post there will be no further updates on the timing for MSFS 2024 compatibility, SP1, the 8-200, or any new features. We can assure you that work is ongoing for all of those projects, which does take time. When updates are ready, we will post in this channel." We think there a good things to come for you in the future. Happy New Year!
December 31, 20241 yr Nice balanced update. Clearly the developer community wants a bunch of things fixed/clarified/created. Hopefully it’s all sorted out in the next six months. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
December 31, 20241 yr Yeah hopefully Asobo gets to work quickly in the new year getting these devs what they need to bring their aircraft over to 24. December 31, 20241 yr you can see how f is the sdk when many devs getting pi** off with asobo on the sdk forum about incomplete sdk documentation, no instant refresh changes button and tons of bug Edited December 31, 20241 yr by michael8
December 31, 20241 yr Author Yeah, it's gonna be a while before more of my airplanes make the move to 24.

December 31, 20241 yr Too bad Asobo is deep in the hole with the dev’s. I wonder if it wasn’t here if we would have SP1 by now. Sucks that they are waiting on the 24 compatible version before MS2020 gets SP1. Eric
December 31, 20241 yr Kind of vindicates what PMDG has been saying for some time but still gets slammed for by some of the regulars here. David Porrett

December 31, 20241 yr Further proof that Neumann was under pressure from the executives to just get 2024 out the door for the cash flow, even if it means broken relationships with the third parties. Understandable because clearly they hired more people into the team and were likely spending more than had an actual revenue between 2023-2024, it was a pretty logical business decision from the top. What irks me is the way that they were selling it to us, that they didn't expect major port over/compatibility issues, when in reality it turned out to be a total "s" show. They better come back from this holiday break and get straight to producing some fast results and getting this SDK in order, along with all the glaring bugs we have to deal with. Jacek G. All the same while you have JF, ini and Fenix who’ve provided support whilst leonardo is currently working on a patch. These are just the devs off the top of my head. i suppose it really depends on the development flow of each dev. Not giving Asobo a pass by any means. But the situation is a bit more circumstantial.
December 31, 20241 yr Yes I think these depends on how the planes are coded. Some are easier than other to port, probably sheer luck on the part of the devs. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

On the Fenix page it says they are not supporting 2024 yet because it is experimental.

Nothing to whitewash for sure, but its seems a matter of the dev and its tools and processes if and how problematic their approach is. Some devs shine a bit brighter than others. But that's nothing new. Up to then we have two (or more) sims to happily fly. Cheers T.
