MSFS 2024 SU1 Beta is just sublime. Video

But of course, as we all know, there's far more to a sim than how it looks!

Placebo is well and truly alive. That flight around NYC looks no different to any similiar flights done in 2020. If someone says "the trees are better" then you'll know this has all been a complete wa

Thanks for the enthusiasm.  I'm 53 years old and remember walking 2 miles home from school each day in 7th grade to play MS Flight Sim on an IBM PC Jr.  What we have now was impossible just 10 short y

YouTube compression has nothing to do with what I am seeing. It has everything to do with the way photogrammetry buildings and textures are rendered in the simulator. Look, I am not saying that it does not look amazing from a bit higher up. It's just that some of us see those flaws at close range, and are not able to "unsee" them.

It's not just you, the same exact things were said on the official forums...  It's funny how some of us see the melting building tops and blurry textures and others don't...

I absolutely still see out of place vegetation and incomplete rendering/loading in your video. Hit stop at any point in the video.

NYC still looks like a post-apocalyptic movie setting.

And do you have SamScene and add ons for the whole entire world? This is global... not just in one tiny city.

Tiny city? LOL Where was the video filmed? I can only compare what I see to what I have.

Good point about it being global, but some buildings still look melted. I'm sure that Samscene cities will work and make the sim even better. That means, to me, that we still need ad-ons to make the sim even better.

Yea, this video does nothing for me. Still in a hold, wait and see mode on 2024.

try it.. You are pausing a video on Youtube. When you are actually flying in 4K ultra.. take a look for yourself and see.

Absolutely! And that's exactly what has had me using 2024 far more than 2020 well before SU1.. from flight dynamics to ground handling to avionics to lighting etc etc.. for now I'll take all the visual fidelity fixes/improvements and other fixes SU1 will give (not in the beta yet) and then look forward to SU2 and beyond.

There must be some server issues!
I have checked NYC and it looks horrible.
Then I have checked Berlin and it looks horrible now also!!

I tested Berlin and other german cities this morning and they where crisp and clear and fantastic.
Now we have the same state as it was before I updated.

It won’t be “Sublime” until they fix the ridiculous looking solid overpasses and bridges!

I am not using photoreal and I am please so far with the beta. Clearly headed in the right direction. The flight dynamics are much better, no rails. Just need more planes. Fenix is working great and testing the JR PRo now

It is sublime for me 🙂 It's subjective, ya know. Plenty of people will hate what they see, I like it. I'm easily impressed I suppose. It's the child in me!

I hope this continues to be good even after the beta is over.

Check out the fine detail in that. The CN Tower in the distance. And I'm getting 75 fps +

Sure, but for those who don't have frame gen or a 4090????

You have a 3090 and a 7800x3D - that's a lot nicer than my system 12700K / 4080.

Plus once DLSS4 officially hits you'll be doing just fine.
