Yes @Bobsk8, people that are unrelentingly negative, have nothing nice to say ever, constantly belittle others, are both condescending and incorrect, are convinced they are always correct and everyone else is always wrong.. yes, those people are haters.

Oh and also, people that deliberately put words in other people's mouths, people that are only here to stir up trouble, people that will always do the forum equivalent of a gish gallop, false equvalency, whataboutism and all the usual debating tricks and logical fallacies - they are more like trolls than haters, but there are most certainly a bunch of people like that here.

I'm glad you're OK. I am wonderful as well.

Placebo is well and truly alive. That flight around NYC looks no different to any similiar flights done in 2020. If someone says "the trees are better" then you'll know this has all been a complete wa

Thanks for the enthusiasm.  I'm 53 years old and remember walking 2 miles home from school each day in 7th grade to play MS Flight Sim on an IBM PC Jr.  What we have now was impossible just 10 short y

This comment is a bit tone deaf. "Looks SO good now" is highly subjective to the end user. What you may pass off as "SO good" to another may be not as good as it should/can be. You are labeling anyone that disagrees with this as a "haters" and is wholly unwarranted and a gross mischaracterization of people.

No no, I was responding to the post above mine. I don’t think people who disagree with me are haters and I apologize if that came across wrong. To you and anyone else! I’m truly sorry.

I provided my definition of haters after that 🙂 .. that’s what I think haters are.

One question.... is it more stable now? I have no problem with performance, I just get CTD's and blue screens of death from time to time...

It is, but then I wasn’t having CtDs before either. So I can’t say whether stability has improved or not, it was always stable for me (barring the obvious bugs like the Inibuilds WASM issue -  but not inexplicable CTDs. )

On BT so can not test. But is SU1 fixing that stupid poping in of airport parts in front of me, cca 10 meters before my front wheel ?

have you tried it at all? Don’t go by videos.

Believe me or not, doesn’t matter to me - but I’ve seen you post here many times and you don’t come across as one of the extreme guys who only hate on stuff - and that’s why I would say really just see for yourself!

Yes, I've tried it.  I haven't tried the Beta though.

I was merely commenting on the video and I wasn't hating on anything I was just "commenting" on the very obvious scenery loading building by building and tile by tile in that  video...   I will wait for SU1 to go GA and I am also very encouraged by the PMDG news as that is critical to my migration.  I have a lot of Hardware and I tend to stick to add-ons where it is supported and I can leverage it all...

Thanks, I'm also extremely content with what I have today...

Not to say 2024 wont be better but I also feel like I wasn't using the same 2020 as some others because "for me"  2020 with everything on Ultra at 120FPS with AI maxxed out TLOD at 375, OLOD at 175 crystal clear textures to the horizon, ASFS, the 777 with all my hardware and rock solid stability still provides a truly immersive and highly enjoyable experience and does not leave me wanting.

Like I said, not arguing it won't be better when I do migrate but also extremely content with what I have and feel 2020 has never been better than it is right now so I'm able to enjoy what I have while I wait.

Not to hijack this thread so I wont start posting my videos here but to me this: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/661769-new-version-of-lossless-scaling/page/6/#findComment-5339822  doesn't look "bad" which is what some seem to imply when talking about how 2020 is somehow dead since 11/20 LOL

I don't think anyone hates MFS hating is a very strong thing.

I insist that only sells the graphical aspect and for a Simer is hardly going to find improvements at that point except the curiosity of the early days walking on the ground or flying unrealistically very low, from three thousand feet and little matter the biomes and with medium or large pay airports do not matter much biomes either....

2024 has two points for me very superior to 2020 and I think they should also Imolenrntar in 2020 which is the significant improvement in performance to those who suffered the dictatorship of the main thread and physics on the ground.

I am waiting to see what the developers can do with native aircraft for 2024 with the nm flight model to give my opinion with more criteria.

Another nice change is the more natural lighting, but at the moment the sim needs a lot of work, it is an enjoyable but sometimes very frustrating simulator and there are many completes to come or polish from 2020.

I have paid 43 Euros for 2024 knowing that it was an Alpha but you have to understand those who have paid much more expecting a much more mature product.

So simmers that don't want to fly a sim filled with bugs, are "Haters'.... Oh, OK.

No one ever said that. This is about people trying to gaslight us into believing SU1 has no visual improvements.

You claimed we were having a placebo effect for no good reason.

To me, it’s not about the visuals so much - yes 2024 is better but it’s not like 2020 was bad.

The single biggest improvement for me is … load times! It’s so much faster than 2020 that I get more flying done. Ending a flight and starting a new one is significantly (multiple minutes) faster than 2020. That adds up.

Massive performance improvements also - I am routinely cracking 90 fps on my hardware where 2020 with all else being equal (hardware/settings ) was at least 10-20 fps slower plus frame times were worse

Flight model improvements, the charts, much better model matching .. all sorts of great improvements that make this so much better than 2020. The visuals are pretty much the least of it - and the visuals are amazing.

So whenever you do move (and assuming they have actually fixed the bad bugs), it really will be a whole new experience. I’m excited for you!

We can all play this game. You have been defending the indefensible for a long time now for no good reason.

Weak response. We literally have side by side photos showing a very obvious difference between the beta and the latest release. People all over the internet have been expressing how impressed they are with the visual uplift. You came a long saying it was a placebo effect. Where is your evidence?

could we talk about the actual content instead of arguing with each other?

Could well be, the same was said for the weekend Alpha pre-release, everyone was saying how amazing it looked and how good performance was and then, well, the official release came out and it all changed. I won't hold my breath in anticipation just yet.

Reading comments from November 2024 to today, it seems to me that the readiness of the product is an elusive concept.  The users whose primary interest is visuals seem to be the more satisfied users (still some complaints here and there) and the ones who dominate the headlines.  Not much debate/comments on actual flying/aviation so for me the state of MSFS2024 is still debatable.  I think when the PMDG and Fenix products are fully supported and stable in MSFS2024, I will transition to it.  This will be a good readiness indicator.
