There is still plenty of rough stuff evident in that PG video.

Exactly, thought it was just me...  Many buildings have melted tops and looks like some of the melted stuff has run down the side.

Thanks for the enthusiasm.  I'm 53 years old and remember walking 2 miles home from school each day in 7th grade to play MS Flight Sim on an IBM PC Jr.  What we have now was impossible just 10 short y

I still want to see how the sim works with the Fenix or PMDG at a big third party airport with BATC, GSX and all the 'bells and whistles.'

I maintain 60fps smooth wherever I am and whatever I'm in.  I am quite astonished I can fly over Los Angeles at 400 TLOD at 60fps!

Try it yourself. Don’t go by YouTube compression.

there’s nothing else like it - and don’t look at NYC, there are many fine sceneries for it.

pick a random city in the world and check it out.

It looks very good.

I wonder if the reason for the improved look and performance is that it's beta, so the server load is better (fewer users downloading streaming data). I hope that it will be as good when the update is officially released for everybody.

YouTube compression has nothing to do with what I am seeing. It has everything to do with the way photogrammetry buildings and textures are rendered in the simulator. Look, I am not saying that it does not look amazing from a bit higher up. It's just that some of us see those flaws at close range, and are not able to "unsee" them.

Could well be, the same was said for the weekend Alpha pre-release, everyone was saying how amazing it looked and how good performance was and then, well, the official release came out and it all changed. I won't hold my breath in anticipation just yet.

If they can deliver this quality in the full release (and it's not just beta peeps on a special server or whatever), I can safely safe you will be blown away by the visual fidelity. Not saying that everything is fixed and all bugs are gone or whatever.. but the visuals took a drastic step forward.

The buildings look a little better, but compared to what I see on my MSFS 2020 screen with Samscene NYC & add-ons, I'm sorry but it's still has a long way to go. Keep hope alive.

And do you have SamScene and add ons for the whole entire world? This is global... not just in one tiny city.

I am not blown away when a taxi sign pops up in front of me 10 yards ahead, and a plane is spinning on it's backside.

Looks lovely, but so does the pre SU1 version... 🙂

What about registrations.. do they work now?

What about the airplane selection menu... are variants and liveries listed correctly?

What about the dim glass displays in the cockpit, have the local vs zulu time issues been addressed?

Bert there's already a huge SU1 beta thread that discusses pretty much all of this.

DR is mostly fixed (still seeing DR placed on top of hand painted though) panel.no appears to be disabled still grrr

dim glass is fixed

as for acft selection - imo that's a 2020 to 2024 issue.  I don't think that will ever be fixed...  I'm honestly not sure why they said 2020 stuff is compatible - they should have never said that!

Because there are so many variants on the aircraft.cfg that we could use in 2020.  For instance you dont' have to include the majority of lines in 2020 but in 2024 you need more of them so we don't have variants all over the place.  Most of my 2020 carenado planes are still "hidden" in the C170 lol
