MSFS 2024 SU1 Beta is just sublime. Video

The single biggest improvement for me is … load times! It’s so much faster than 2020 that I get more flying done. Ending a flight and starting a new one is significantly (multiple minutes) faster than 2020. That adds up.

Massive performance improvements also - I am routinely cracking 90 fps on my hardware where 2020 with all else being equal (hardware/settings ) was at least 10-20 fps slower plus frame times were worse

Flight model improvements, the charts, much better model matching .. all sorts of great improvements that make this so much better than 2020. The visuals are pretty much the least of it - and the visuals are amazing.

So your priorities are TOTALLY different to mine LOL...

If the single biggest improvement is load times I could really care less.  2-3 minutes for everything to load when you are doing a 12 hour flight that takes 30 minutes to preflight and load is nothing in the grand scheme of things LOL.  The flight I just completed was a 12 hr 17 minute block time and the sim has been running for almost 13 hours now.  Glad that means a lot to you but useless to me though.

Performance for me is locked at 120 stutter free FPS with a 4090 and Frame generation.  Charts aren't an issue, I use Navigraph and Simbrief with my add-ons EFB's anyway

BUT when you combine a better flight model, better ground handling, better lighting and more cloud variety with better visuals then it's that entire last line that is what actually adds to my immersion level.

Everything else you listed ie start times, performance, charts, model matching ( I am assuming that is AI?) are just white noise LOL...  Funny that how different things are important to different people 😉

Have a Wonderful Day

Add those who have hidden interests or simply take the simulators' war as if it were a confrontation of ultrasport.

I feel like this thread has run its course and there are much better videos and pics out there to discuss now. Thanks for the chat all.

I think when the PMDG and Fenix products are fully supported and stable in MSFS2024, I will transition to it.  This will be a good readiness indicator.

The Fenix products have been stable in 2024 for a couple months now. Just waiting on PMDG now.

Not much debate/comments on actual flying/aviation so for me the state of MSFS2024 is still debatable.

Should look a bit harder then. 2024 is very much improved over 2020 in that regard.

I am barely getting 50 fps and the FPS fluctuates all over the place. This is with the latest DLSS4 tweaks.

Yup, the frame times in 2024 are awful, which contributes to the stutters at heavier airports. Not as noticeable out in the sticks, cause the frames are so high that it negates the effect.

Great to hear you are enjoying MS2024 so much @JonathanC I am also amazed by the quality and performance of this new game despite the multitude of little bugs still within the program. It's not a flight simulator anymore but it does look fantastic.

I have read the posts that the Fenix products are running in MSFS2024 but the Fenix support site has a banner that states "MSFS 2024 IS NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED. WE CANNOT PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THIS VERSION OF MSFS AT THIS TIME ", which means they don't accept support tickets yet.  This is the reason I said fully supported.  Some people are OK with rolling the dice and doing whatever if they run into problems.  I would rather wait for a more stable and robust MSFS2024.

Despite the banner, the Fenix aircraft run just as well as they do in 2020.

It isn't? Why?🤔 I wouldn't have a clue what else to call it...

😁 *pours petrol*

Hi, everyone,

Is it "safe" to install the su1 beta update?

I mean... is there a risk of loosing settings, control bindings and so on?

I'm still fighting with partial settings that fs2024 does not save at all... so, I don't know if it is a good idea o a bad one!

Greetings

Yep. Heathrow at ultra settings is unplayable. Strange thing is, it wasn't this bad at launch, it was kind of screwed in the 1.27 and 1.28 patches and is still the same in SU1 beta
