But if they included that functionality as well, Keven would do it extremely well, simplify it, make the interface easy to use

Replay tools are impossible to do right in MSFS. Every aircraft developer has a different way of doing things and none of them treat replayability with the same level of importance. If we were to do a replay tools, it would be subject to the same limitations as the other tools but with a better user experience. Is it still desirable? You guys tell me!

I won’t be commenting more on this because everything will be revealed in due time but… This very “feature” is the first thing we got rid of in this new version of CP. It made my blood boil from day 1

We’ve decided to re-code some parts of the app to work better (things like adding support for all F keys and some more quality of life things). As I said before, CP lives at the bounds of the SDK

More news on release date and pricing early next week 😉

As a VERY satisfied current user of CP in FSX and P3dv5 I have a few questions with maybe multiple answers:

The same app interface is used for both FSX/P3d so when I boot up each sim the transition is seamless. I can even import views from one sim into another with similar ac.

Q1) Obviously for MSFS a different app will be needed, but will the interface be familiar to current users? Similar to how say Active Sky uses the same interface for FSX/P3D/MSFS.

Q2) For CURRENT users who purchase the MSFS version, what options and functions in FSX/P3D will NOT be available for MSFS?

Q3) Of those functions that are available or similar to those in previous versions are any severely downgraded due to sim/api limitations? All the amazing custom camera movement sliders would be one example.

I am sure new users will be quite rightly wowed by their first experience with ChasePlane, I am hoping that current users will continue to enjoy the bar that was set so high by OldProp back in the day!

Will they abandon it like skypark at the first opportunity?

I would probably say No as it would be one of the most selling products (chaseplane) for MS2020/2024 that skypark could ever dream about. Very few steamers even showcased that skypark project. It has no support as no one really uses it.

I would.

Didn't realise the potential issues with developing a replayable app for MSFS.  What about developing one for the biggest titles first (PMDG, Fenix, Inibuilds).

Just being able to set up my views, hotkeys and fine-tune them old Chaseplane-style would be a massive quality-of-life improvement. I have a deep seated hatred for MSFS' clunky menus, controls and general view setup.

One of the things I LOVED was the ability to automatically assign views to hotkeys based on the view name. Made it a snap to setup the various instrument views to consistent hotkeys.

Are we able to have tower view like in the FSX old days? just asking...

The only thing preventing us from including Tower views is that airport data provided by the sim doesn’t have coordinates for tower views. When Asobo decides to add that data, we will be able to add tower views.

Without fly-by and tower views I have no need for CP.

Ahh, well that answer half.  How about fly-by, similar to FSX?  Just curious:  as a dev are you able to put in a request for this, coordinates for tower views?

FlyBy views are easy 😉. We already know they are working on tower views internally

If for whatever reason Asobo doesn‘t add this data: Will it be possible to just create „custom tower views“ manually / some static external cameras that follow the aircraft? The same goes for runway views. IIRC, the previous versions of ChasePlane allowed to create all these type of views.

I‘m looking forward to the release of this tool, especially if it brings the essential features like internal views, external views and static views all switchable with easy assignable keybinds.

I really miss ChasePlane, the current camera system of MSFS is really lacking imho (I know others are fine with it), and getting this Tool back would be such a relief and enjoyment factor.

I retract my statement. It seems like the data has been added since we last checked. Tower views will be in CP on release day 😉
