I'd be curious about what others have to say.

I think there's less glass cockpit ghosting. But I'm wondering if there's more frame gen related artifacts than 3.8.1... I noticed this yesterday at Palm Springs airport. When panning around, certain objects e.g. palm tress become blurry and weird. It's been a while since I've seen this - perhaps early on after DLSS frame gen was released back in 2022.

I'm confused What is the best option to use dlss4, with the app, with the swapper, or with nvidia profile inspector. I just cleaned everything up with ddu.

Yeah, I've tried the OP's way several times and its still greyed out (with the app). Nvidia inspector didn't save those settings, it seems.

Instead, I tried SimHangarFlight's way of doing it and it worked. Just required DLSS Swapper and some manual edits. Now I can confirm that this method does work for me. DLSS swapper, update app, update drivers, manually download drivers, a registry edit (to confirm dlss version) and viola!

I am putting this here so that it doesn't get swamped in the other posts... Lots of mis-info.

So first off, you do not need to download any DLL's or swap any DLL's.

1.) Download new NVidia drivers. Install them

2.) Download new NVidia app. Install it.

3.) Restart PC.

4.) go in new Nvidia app, select MSFS2024,  and make sure that in DLSS override - Model presets is set to 'frame generation - Latest'.

1-30-2025-11-13-11-AM.jpg

5.) Download NVidia inspector. You need new version 2.4.0.8 https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/download/2.4.0.8/nvidiaProfileInspector.zip

6.) Run it and change the settings as per my pictures below.

7.) That's i! All done, go fly MSFS2024 in new DLSS4.

Is it really possible that DLLS can beat TAA when it comes to visual quality as some are claiming here? I find that very hard to believe.

Image quality is pretty good with DLSS4 and setting MSFS2020 to DLSS-DLAA. I’m on 4k 77” OLED, most setting at ultra with HDR on and using a 4090 to push it. Performance is better for me on TAA. And I don’t get the ghosting that is still present with DLSS4 on planes like Fenix and PMDG. If you fly only GA non glass panels than DLSS4 is the way to go.

I see, thanks. But I still do not get why I shout pamper around in Inspector and the HEX code lines when I have a dropdown menue in the MSFS2024 specific settings inside the App allowing me to select Preset K specifically for MSFS2024 only without influencing all other games.

For some people the Nvidia App override menus are greyed out. They have to use Inspector.

You put «latest» preset in the NV app and yet the sim shows preset J? Strange...

T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

I have everything running fine (thanks to all) - MSFS 2024, just NVI and DLSS Swapper (ie. No nVidia App or Geforce) with the latest drivers from nVidia.

Simple question (apologies if the answer has been posted/buried somewhere in this long thread):

Is DLSS Swapper (and therefore the DLLs it updates) actually required - or is the new driver (572.16) all you need now?

the 3 DLLs for DLSS4 need to be in the MSFS directory, the driver installation does not copy them there. so you can manually do that or use DLSS Swapper. in my case:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Limitless_1.3.10.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe

if you see this watermark text in the lower left corner (per registry entry), then you are 100% sure that all is good.
