Majestic Dash 8 for MSFS?

In any case, if you claim P3D is better than Berlin above, feel free to post video showing Berlin in P3D vs Berlin in MSFS 2024 from around the same height

Oh boy, so you select a P3D “default scenery” without knowing what version of P3D was being used?  And why are you trying to restrict on “height”?

Let me search YouTube and show a more valid compare when P3D uses 3rd party scenery (oh the horror of having to support 3rd party development):

Agree that the lighting is not perfect, but certainly wouldn’t consider this so bad that one can’t “go back” to P3D to fly MJC Q400 … the lighting could probably look better with some ENVTEX add-on … oh another add-on, eeeks, shaking in my boots 😉

I would take a majestic systems level q400 even if only at p3d visual model quality.

  • How’d you read that and get that interpretation? It works in 2020 and they’re of the same thinking as a lot of devs when it comes to 2024, new features that they’ll need to delve into.

Give it up Bro.... There's no comparison and I own both versions of PD3v5 and v6. I'm glad you enjoy the legacy sims, I did also, but I moved on. MSFS 2024 and 2020 rule.

I could make a smart*** comment about that video but I will no further comment.

The video illustrates why I am not that intrigued with having to reinstall p3d.  But I still miss the q400

If I am not mistaken, people have been waiting for Majestic to update the Q400 for years and years. I seriously doubt if you will ever see it for MSFS.

Well with their most recent update they have cleared the way for competition to eat their lunch. That’s for sure

Working fine for me in P3D V5 and V6.  Perhaps you need to list your issues?

I did to support. Very simple but a deal breaker. The pfd showed every route as a straight line. Very weird and impossible to know then the turns were. I had screenshots somewhere.

That would be a deal breaker for me too, never had that issue … you got a link to your support request … don’t see anyone posting in their support forum:

To each his or her own, melted buildings, limited LoD, and jungle world does NOT stop me from using aircraft I like in MSFS.

This thread has become an old vs new sim debate once again.

It was email support. If you're interested I'll dig it up and post. I don't have the plane any more sadly as refund was given. Was sad as printed out all the checklists and spent several hours learning the plane on the ground before even starting a flight. Had wanted that plane for ages I splashed out on p3dv5 pro just for that plane and pmdg 747 series. I did a couple of manual flights vfr but wasn't why I purchased the plane. Would be very interested in getting it again for msfs as very unlikely the same bug would appear in a new sim version.

A few people here already replied about your video and they were past P3D users, and even they didn't have anything positive to say.

But anyways, in my comment to you, I specified that it wasn't P3D version 6, because that's all that I could find on Youtube for Berlin.  And to be fair, that was default Berlin scenery for MSFS 2024, whereas you are showing me what looks to be probably a paid scenery add-on for P3D.

But if you're going to choose a different city, and add-ons are allowed, here is what New York can look like with Sam Scene 3D New York City Times:

There are very few photogrammetry buildings in downtown New York, and most of the buildings look sharp and nice when Sam Scene 3D New York City Times is used as an add-on.

But then we are comparing add-ons in P3D to add-ons for MSFS, right?  So your argument of "melted buildings" goes out the window when add-ons can be used for MSFS.

Lastly, in your video, we don't see the scenery in between for the flight. But I guess if you fly at 30K feet in P3D, it looks decent enough.  But then P3D is confined to specific use cases just to make it look good, such as, "if I fly from city A to city B, where I have an add-on for city A and city B, and I fly at 30K feet, it can look good."

But with MSFS 2024, it can practically look good anywhere, including for bush flyers and helicopter flyers, that do low level flights.  That's the beauty of it.  MSFS 2024 is a use case for almost all scenarios, not just a cherry picked scenario.

When people start to choose P3D for bush flying over MSFS 2024, then perhaps P3D will have caught up to MSFS 2024 in terms of graphics for the entire world, and I'll be using P3D over MSFS 2024 too. Here is a bush flying example of MSFS 2024, and I believe no add-ons were used, it's all default scenery:

Everything, from the trees, to the vegetation, to the beach, to the water, look good in that video.  That's a typical bush flying experience with MSFS 2024. Can P3D do that without any add-ons for bush flying?

What P3D can do right now that MFS can't do is fly one of the most detailed and most beloved aircraft in the hobby Q400 from Magestic. It's all a matter of compromise in the end, fly that marvel in P3D or go on a virtual picnic in 2024 with Yogi Bear and you decide who you enjoy your free time with.

I love Q400 back in my P3D days, and would be nice to see it in MSFS. But at the same time as time goes Q400 becomes less appealing . There are more great airplanes yet to come and Majestic magic may just be thing of past... Gotta learn how to let go and boldy go to the future! LOL

I don’t feel that way. It’s a unique plane. We have nothing like it in msfs. The atr feels like vanilla ice cream to me.

How bad is the ATR? I thought it would be the natural replacement for the Q400 that I used so much in P3D.
