February 24, 20251 yr I was thinking of adding another good prop to my collection. And I got it narrowed down to A2A Comanche or Flysimware C414. I'm interested in any recommendations on which to take the plunge on. Appreciate your thoughts from simmers who own any of these props. February 24, 20251 yr Two very different planes, it depends a lot on what kind of flying you want to do. The Comanche is low and slow, with limited pax numbers. On the other hand, it is much more detailed in its modelling and includes a walk-around in MSFS 2020. I personally love the Comanche, my favourite GA plane. I never warmed up to the C414, probably because it is a pain to fly with VR. Some fonts are so small that I cannot read them with my old Quest 2. Peter

February 24, 20251 yr Commercial Member A2A Comanche, You won't want to fly any other GA plane after trying this one.
February 24, 20251 yr There's something about the feel of flight that the A2A Comanche has that hasn't been fully replicated anywhere else. February 24, 20251 yr I've got both. Overall, the A2A Comanche would be my choice. However, if I wanted a twin, I'd buy the Chancellor again. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

I know you're comparing it to the 414, but this has to be the first time I've see 155 KTAS at 8000 feet described as low and slow. In the real world, I'd be drooling over that kind of performance...

But the Comanche is very good indeed! To the OP, it's a hard choice. Both planes are great, it all comes down to the type of flying you want to do and how fast you want to go. I find myself in the C414 more often these days. Edited February 24, 20251 yr by Rimshot typo Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
February 24, 20251 yr What does your heart say you want? If it's really important you buy what others think, then(So far)the Comanche has it. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
February 24, 20251 yr I have both and love them equally. My choice depends on the flight I have planned. As said above: the Comanche is superb for low and slow and I use it often for sight seeing in the SoCal mountains and costal ranges. The systems are fun to work and the feel of the plane is great. The 414 is my frequent choice for one to two hour flights at 15,000 or so. The planes visuals and instruments are great and making a 350 - 400 mile flight up and over the mountains from San Diego to Reno or Flagstaff is comfortable and fun. I had to have both and am glad I do. And.. they both work well in 2024. February 24, 20251 yr Get both. If you don't want to spend too much all at once, get either one, and then get the other one in a few days/weeks/whatever works for you. Both are excellent and very different, not replacements. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
February 24, 20251 yr Author I want to thank everyone for their insights and comments. Looks like I most likely get both the A2A first then the Comanche. looking forward to some serious sightseeing. Obviously A2A has simulated the Comanche more in depth and has an excellent flight model. Totally different planes/purposes though. I'd actually say the 414's sounds are nicer, that's my one knock to the PA24. Visually though both are superb inside and out. The 414's flight model flies by numbers but doesn't have that superb feel like the PA24. The 414 is quite a bit faster than the PA24. We're talking 240 ktas vs 160 ktas or so (at altitude). I'd also consider the Black Square Dukes and or TBM 850 if you haven't purchased either of those. They're very in depth systems wise. The flight model (just the way it flies) isn't quite up to par of the A2A but since A2A has no twin or a turbine it's not an apples to apples comparison. Additional consideration - the FSReborn M500! G1000 but another superb flight model, sounds and visuals. My top 3 GA addons are the PA24, TBM850, and M500 in no particular order. Each have their strengths and some weaknesses. But I gladly make an exception for the Comanche, it's such a great model. 🙂
