Perhaps someone could post a quick video in external view when hitting the brakes during taxi - should be an easy way of settling this discussion 🙂

Here's a short video:

I mean, I respect your opinion but what exactly did you expect? You get the A350-1000, -900 and later -900ULR for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. That's a pretty good price for a high end aircraft add on and

It looks like it's just not animated with the correct values for the suspension.  There's a slight dip.  I don't know how it works for MSFS, but for X-P, it's a value in meters that corresponds to the suspension distance in the animation.  The sim reads the value and makes it work according to the inner workings of the code.

re: the ini A350 landing physics and compression of gear, at the very least we know it's *not* showing in replay videos. What I'd like to confirm is if the animation shows on external views on landing and more importantly if at least the new physics are being employed despite the visuals not being there fully or completely yet. Given that the FM is using the new ground contact model, and given that some have seen the compression parameters defined in the aircraft .cfg files that seems to suggest the physics are at least there.

Nail on the head, my friend. 👍

Replay on flight sim videos has always been problematic.

And somehow, some of us have succumbed to the false logic that if we can't see it in the sim replay / external view, that it isn't happening.

This is a logical fallacy where we're conflating IRL physics with a visual simulation of IRL physics.

I can't even count the number of times I've seen external videos / replays across multiple sims and all types of add-ons where what we know is being simulated in the cockpit (which seems to be where most IRL pilots hang out while flying 😁) isn't appearing in the external glamour shots. This is most frequently shown in the case of elevation differences between the addon and the runway (i.e., buried or floating wheels).

This take of "solid steel" landing gear based on visual replays is ridiculous.

In terms of avionics, handling, and other systems, if it passes the test of the various IRL ATPL streamers, then it's good enough.

From the little I know of this plane, it seems this is The Best A350 addon available in any flight sim, so we should all keep that firmly in mind.

Whether the value is there vs other Hi Fi add-ons is entirely a subjective personal matter...

Just like folks here are trying to skew MSFS 2024 as the most popular flight sim as of late. Its a skewed opinion.

Since MS says their user numbers have never been higher, and that the allegedly DoA Career Model is by far the most popular feature, I'm not sure the "skew" goes the direction you seem to believe.

Most of the people here comparing FENIX  products that has been around 3 years now, with many updates and improvements, which is also using Prosim as a base, with a product that has been in the market only a week and telling it is a bad product....really?

Fenix also had issues with the flare and flaps 3 that were highlighted by Blackbox711, and they took a long time to fix it.

I have flying it since version 1.0 and also think there is room for improvement. hopefully with time it will get there, but it is already a nice airplane and I don't regret the purchase.

There is no way that can be using the new contact patch modelling or something is wrong with how ini modelled it because the tires actually lose contact with the ground when the gear stays compressed rather than extending as the weight comes off.

There is a tiny little bit of squat then the wheels lift themselves off the ground before coming back down again.  So there is definitely some squat but the modelling and animation is all wrong.

Just something for ini to fix.

Thanks @Cpt_Piett

I can't help but think that in the video posted above, it doesn't look right at all - the wheel leaves the ground on the rebound for starters and the whole thing doesn't look like it's based on the weight of the aircraft pushing down on it.

So you believe in MSFS word. LOL we will see when with Navigraph results come back and when the actual simmers vote tell the truth and most main stream simmers have already parked Career gaming mode just like the casual gamers will soon and move on the next game release.

Okay let's ignore pretty graphics for a moment - has anyone done a comparison between the old FFA350 and the Inibuilds A350 yet?

Based on the videos I posted above, the landing gear simulation isn't as good so I wonder how close to the numbers they both are when a deep dive is performed ... Flight Factor are arguable more of a stickler for details than Inibuilds so I'd be interested to see how a 10 yr old addon stacks up against this new version (especially since it's cheaper!).

Second flight since the 1.02 update.

Second WASM crash.

I call that a regression of epic proportions.

Before the update I had only succesful complete flights including a 10+ hour long haul.
Now I have zero succesful flights so far.

Hi Farlis,

Sorry to hear about the crashes. Was this in 2020 or 2024?

Thanks! I haven't purchased the A350 yet, but when and if I do, I'll be running it in 2020.

Thanks for the video! The animations/visuals don't look quite right.. from within the cockpit how does it feel braking too hard or turning with too much speed or too little speed? Is it plausible and as you would expect? Do you see/feel the movements and carrying/loss of momentum, skidding, etc as they showed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cjLdfEfTow&t=2970s (ini A350 in MSFS 2024) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4cxNccH66U&t=1318s (ini A300 in MSFS 2020)?

Given that they've explicitly said they're using the new ground contact model then either a) they're lying, b) they didn't implement it fully/well (either animations and/or actual handling), c) there is some bug(s). I'd lean towards b) or c).  The A300 at least exhibits this properly, though I haven't looked in external view quite close to the wheels in a while hehe.

Today I did my first long-haul since the 1.0.2 update, (KLAS-EGLL), using sim rate 4x since I reached cruising altitude. Before the update, the longest I could use sim rate 4x continuously before the aircraft went crazy and disconnected the A/P was about 20 minutes.

On this flight, I was able to use sim rate 4x continuously for over 2 hours until TOD and the aircraft stayed safely on its course. I even had the courage to leave my PC unattended for several minutes, returning with the aircraft still stable.

I will still do another long-haul to be sure if it wasn't just a stroke of luck, but I am confident that the issue of aircraft not being able to handle sim rate 4x has been resolved.
