March 13, 20251 yr Hello, I'm just raising a stink here because posts on the Orbx forum have to be approved to be published! Having uninstalled MS2020 and its addons to switch to MS2024 now prevents me from downloading all the scenes I bought on ORBX. And yet, legally speaking, this is the reply I gave them without any response from them and, of course, without them having approved and published it. Quote I don't accept having paid for addons and not being able to download them even though I no longer use 2020. These addons are my property and I should be free to install them on 2024 if I wish. March 13, 20251 yr I’m pretty confused by what’s going on with Orbx. I’ve bought aircraft, scenery and airports from them. When the app updated it asked me to choose which sim I use. I put in 2024 and hey presto, my Orbx library no longer displays the 2020 content I own and there appears to be no way to access it🤔

Franck I was able to download some add ons I purchased for 2020 in 2024. My understanding they only let you download 2020 add ons that are compatible with 2024 . Some goes with Contrails shop. For example I bought FSS 727 for 2020 but it still not compatible with 2024 and so I can download and install it until FSS clears it up for 2024. March 13, 20251 yr OK, so go back up to the top and choose "Microsoft Flight Simulator" (the 2020 version) and everything you have for that sim will come back. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe

March 13, 20251 yr Orbx Central has been the product delivery system for Orbx Direct purchases since 2016. Orbx Central has never installed products for one simulator into another simulator. Orbx Central has never listed products for one simulator when opened for another simulator. Of course, there is an easy way to obtain MSFS 2020 products if you don't have MSFS 2020 installed. But quietly getting on with it can't be as much fun as posting here. Edited March 13, 20251 yr by Reader
March 13, 20251 yr Thanks for the heads up. I will now download / install all of my stuff purchased thru Orbx into 2020. Then I will copy all of it over to 2024 (or to my backup archive, most likely, so that I can test each addon in '24 one at a time). Then I can be free to not worry about uninstalling 2020 when the time comes. EDIT: I need to download and back up all of those add-ons anyway. So now is as good a time as any. March 13, 20251 yr Thanks for all the advice. After reading through it I’m with Franck; I’ll never buy anything from Orbx again!
March 13, 20251 yr Ran into the same. Also on 2024 exclusively and unable to access my purchases. Unbelievable they do not offer to download what I purchased. Reached out to their support and got an unofficial workaround offered, probably the one shown in above video. So far I refused to fiddle with any manual file tricks but may jump water and do so just to regain my purchases. And from then on avoid Orbx … Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
March 13, 20251 yr I think they just need to communicate better. Many of my addons are there, but of course still some say not compatible. Do they really not work, or are they just not certified as working yet? I'm not even talking about the utilities that might have more issues, but just sceneries. I don't want to put anything into 2024 that might cause issues. I've been very careful what I load into 2024 and I don't seem to run into the issues that others seem to always run into. However, are they just slow to test these things, or is there some issue? Hopefully we get some clarity now that SU1 is out. This seems to be a common problem, and not just Orbx. My MS Store stuff was slowly appearing, but I haven't seen anything in weeks. There's still lots of products I'm missing, and the frustrating thing is it isn't easy to see what all is missing without installing 2020 (which I really want to avoid). March 13, 20251 yr Wow. I never uninstalled 2020, so I just copied everything over. All airports work well for the most part. I will make sure to back up my community folder now just in case. 2024 is not installed on my new computer. Still waiting for the dust to settle over there. Planes are another matter altogether. March 13, 20251 yr I DID put something in the Shopping Cart and decided against it.... it remains in my cart- no way to get rid of it Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
March 13, 20251 yr People saying they will never buy from Orbx again are going to be gritting their teeth when that all new KATL drops exclusively on Orbx. Eric

Orbx Direct has a massive catalogue of hundreds of MSFS products and they and their developer partners are working through them as fast as possible, as we can expect all developers are, if they want to sell their products. The problem seems to be that Orbx Central will not allow the installation of products into the wrong simulator, even though contributors to this topic are determined to do that. Once again, what is done at home in private is one thing and those that do it are often far more tolerant of the resulting anomalies. Offering for sale products that have not been tested in a simulator is quite another thing and is not acceptable. It's clear that the purpose of the topic is not to seek a compromise, or solution, but to air a grievance.

No, it sounds like people simply want "access" to their purchases to do with them what they want. It's not as deep as you make out, but it also sounds like the OP should have access if they change the sim drop down but if I am mistaken and people truly CAN"T get access to their prior purchases that is indeed a problem. I think the "purpose" was someone frustrated they didn't have access to their prior purchases which is pretty darn understandable. I have two items in my Orbx cart right now and will probably just purchase and ensure I don't remove my 2020 Community folder to prevent losing access my own products. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
