Well then, make your own poll

Lol, he has a point though. For me it is SI now, because I only fly VFR.

For VFR: ATC Chatter

I forgot about this possibility. It sounds nice. Gotta try it. You mean FS ATC Chatter, right?

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

The thing that keeps me thinking about SI is the ability to have custom call signs. I mentioned this in another thread but I fly a ton of defunct airlines (USAir, Empire, etc.). SI is the only one that I can override that.

I know BATC I can't. I haven't looked too deep into FSHUD in a while. There is an unanswered question on their discord about NWA not being Northwest so I'm not optimistic.

I simply use FS-ATC Chatter and then fly my way. It works for me but obviously won't for everyone. I like the background radio chatter for the immersion, and FS-ATC Chatter is constantly updating with new voice chatter from across the globe.

I really like that the FSHUD interface can be on a client machine, does BATC support that?

I agree, I use it on a tablet. I don’t think BATC has that option. I use spacedesk as a workaround though.

Neither VATSIM or IVAO should be on this list. They are not programs. They are online networks you connect to with a client.

Well it's a meaningless poll that advances nothing really anyway.

Some is just wondering what is the most used program.

Technically I guess I could pull out my USB monitor but now I am getting into windowed vs full screen and what happens if I click the ATC window etc etc.

So for me FSHUD is the only one that controls traffic and also has a remote client but I will admit the voices are limited and some of the pronunciation is way off...  Hearing Qantas as Kantas and not being able to annunciate New correctly do make me think about trying something else but SI over multiple years would have cost me thousands and BATC doesn't have the remote client 😞

I fly GA and mostly in Canada so VATSIM coverage is often not available for my flights. I'm using BATC for ,most of my flights and like it a lot. It's not perfect, but as far as I know, a perfect ATC package hasn't been developed yet. I've seen definite improvement in the product since I first purchased it, and development continues so I'm happy to stick with BATC.

I have flown nothing but airliners since I got BATC, but about a month ago I went back  to flying GA aircraft only, namely the SWS Kodiak and the Pilatus PC 12. Beyond ATC does a great job with this type of flying, and going into some of the smaller airports that I fly in and out of now, the departures and approaches have been working out great.

Well at least now we know why these "SayIntentions is the best EVAAARRRR" threads keep on showing up.

It IS marketing and a way to try to gain ground on BATC.

Can you link me to some, I haven't really seen any?

There has, however, been great discussions around the various ATC alternatives and their benefits / pitfalls. All that points to the fact that we are probably in the best position flight sims have ever been in terms of having options. Doesn't matter what you choose, there's something that will fit what you need out of it.

Personally I started with Pilot2ATC back in my XP days. Then FSHUD, then BATC once they released injection.
Now I'm on SI just because it covers all the use-cases in one app (VFR, IFR, missions, etc).
