You might take a look at the 2 vids I just posted. Show me the difference in complexity between 2020 and 2024.

I would like to see it ….

The only thing you can see is that 2024 has specific melted blocks of buildings where 2020 does not have that.

I agree with you on the release. Lets hope for the best ✈️

The difference is when you are on the ground, with all that displacement mapping, the complex trees, complex meshes and lights, etc. It makes the PG still more difficult to render it properly in my opinion.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

  • It seems to be a matter of completely opposing perspectives. When I "grade" Asobo and MSFS, I do it with a very keen remembrance of what came before. The years of "Lipstick on a pig", and flight

  • Have you ever bothered to read long list of fixed of your regular OS updates? And you are still using it and don't complain LOL

  • There is a thin line between constructive criticism and mindless bashing. A "true simmer" cares about positive improvement of the product . The simple truth is no one is forcing anyone to buy 2024. Th

I wouldn't install 2024 on my PC, not asking for problems.

And it won't give you problems if you do.

If you're happy with 2020 (and there's still addons to be ported over) that's fine. But 2024 works even better than 2020 especially with SU2.

Not what I have been reading in forums. Many users have dropped 2024 and gone back to 2020, because they don't want the problems.

And many have dropped 2020, like me. None of the issues are sim breaking IMO.

No crashes and better performance than 2020 on my end.

I installed 2020 back again but not because 2024 issues (it's been quite reliable with great performance) but because I just don't think PMDG will port over the 737 anytime soon, I really missed flying it with A Pilots Life. From my POV, I have the best of both worlds with just one click and both are working perfectly fine. I'm enjoying both even more so since A pilots Life works flawlessly with both, when I feel the urge to fly the 737, I just launch 2020 otherwise is 2024.

Not sure Bob where you draw your impressions, but I have opposite one. Many user switch to 2024 while still keeping 2020 due to certain add on like PMDG, MD11, IFly 737 (for now).

My personal experience in recent time in 2024 is very positive. I max out graphics and get absolutely smooth framerates (running i9-13 900, GTX4090, 64 RAM). 2024 foot print is very small comparing with 2020. Most of the space occupied by community folder (3rd party add ons). Everything else is streamed which is huge hard drive space saver unlike 2020 which was running out of space. Yes there are bugs, but nothing critical  show stoppers. Just like 2020 , 2024 is far from perfect, but I believe 2024 in the end game have a lot of potential to grow.

Oh God, you are missing the point, my argument is not about mechanisms, or the science behind wake turbulence. Let's just move on

So what is your "argument" about?

For the FS2024 Beta, what version # do you see in the upper left corner of the screen?

Thanks,

Al

The ground terrain is much more detailed, plus the world no longer has a green tint.  Atmospheric colours are more accurate due to an updated lighting engine.  I have nothing bad to say about 2020, but to suggest 2024 is not more advanced in many areas is just plain silly.

Quite some selective reading. There are also a lot of positive posts. I understand though you're waiting for MSFS 2024 to improve, but you might actually enjoy it already. I know I do, alongside MSFS 2020.

Cheers, Bert

You are using the same statement that MS used to promote 2024….

But you probably did not watch both vids.

So you see a much more detailed ground terrain ?

That is not possible, as in the 2020 vid I use the Map Enhancement Mod with Latest Bing High Resolution, And in 2024 the extra ground detail ( boksers etc ) was turned off.

Regarding the atmospheric Lightning : You see the ground with buildings. You are not looking into the distance with Clouds and sun.

And if you would the atmosphere in the 2020 vid would look better than a vanilla 2020 as I used REX Atmos too.

The idea of posting the vids was to show that PG in 2024 looks worse than in 2024, regarding certain types of building blocks.

I agree; it just feels like I am flying due to what you say; the atmosphere and lighting just feel right.

My Just Flight Hawk update wouldn't install last night, after much fiddling and poking around it seems (another) regression bug to do with the community folder in the beta was the issue. It seems if you alter that in game it's not finishing or something, complete faff but I got there in the end.
