  • Absolutely beautiful clouds and lighting!

  • No one will read a 6000 page manual on how to operate the CL650.  So we did something far better for the flight sim community.  Graeme at Reflected Reality Simulations made a series of video tutorials

The lighting and clouds are looking pretty epic in XP now! I think it Trumps MSFS24 now. Only problem is those light shafts dance around as you move your viewpoint.

Please file your bugs guys, to make the lighting Great Again 🤩 I filed about 8 so far, mostly related to VR.

can someone explain what this means. thanks

The sim is calculating the global lighting environment more often now to avoid the big jumps in lighting that used to happen every few minutes. Apparently did some beneficial algorithm optimizations there too.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

Just completed a Challenger 650 flight. No crashes, no performance issues. Seems Beta 2 is a lot more stable for me. Now to try the Toliss stuff later today.

Oh wow this is one hell of an impressive sim now! 🥰 Beats most top-quality payware scenery addons of FS2020!

My new top-notch go-to ultra high end feelgood sim!

Finally brought everything to life, Avitab is running and connected to Chartfox, navigation computer database for XP12 updated, now I just have to connect X-Plane 12 to LittleNavmap (which is sometimes very difficult, need a lot of plugins that don´t function correct, I hope I can manage that too to make X-Plane 12 perfect.)

There is no going back to lesser simulators now after having tasted X-Plane 12 and the HotStart Challenger once. 😊

Oh it even simulates bird activity, birds nesting etc. and warns from birdstrikes in the ATIS.

Oh and I received an 38 pages long SIGMET yesterday evening... it even simulates that. Best and most realistic aircraft ever made! Oh I got kinda bored after flying Airbusses for almost three years, they became too predictable over time ... here I finally a brandnew even more enhanced and sophisticated simulation experience with so much new exciting ultra high tech stuff to learn!

The Challenger makes a sim by itself, a sim using another sim for everything but the aircraft.

Combination must be simply amazing !

There are manuals.

not according to disappointed user reports who actually bought the Hotstart product. what manuals do come with the product? I said manuals, not checklists,  references or youtubes.

6.000 pages? how about 1 % of that for starters.

The SIGMET is very impressive as it is getting actual weather information if you compare it with the official weather links.

There is so much that this aircraft simulates. People talk about CPDLC in this aircraft, but it only scratches the surfaces as to what this aircraft haves that is never broken down to specific detail and its history as to what Foxtrot Alpha Aviation does in this link below which is demonstrated in the Hotstart CL650.

All of what he covers can be performed in the Challenger CL650 that give you an impression all of what its capable of when it comes to CPDLC communication.

He covers FANS/CPDLC, DCL ADS-B and C, ATN, PDC MLAT and speaks a little about ACARS and give talks about the difference.

Also what impress me is the number of radio communication this aircraft simulates is Proline 21 demonstration of the Hotstart CL650. He covers 3 parts starting with this video. I just posted the first link since its is very lengthy. If you get through all three, it will give you good totorial of that entire panel. I haven't been able to get through all of them myself but I save them for reference just to have.

No one will read a 6000 page manual on how to operate the CL650.  So we did something far better for the flight sim community.  Graeme at Reflected Reality Simulations made a series of video tutorials, outlining just about every procedure in the aircraft.

Starting with this 7 hour video.

We also have a very open and information filled discord, where Saso and myself will answer all kinds of questions on how to operate the 650.

In saying that, if a manual, that will take several months to create, is the deal breaker for you, then exercise your right to keep your wallet closed.

That must take some dedication! I’ll stick with the 172 until kids are older and I’m retired 🤣

I see tutbomax's pov and for ages I also only accepted a big PDF ir set of PDFs... But for instance with the inibuilds A300-600 for xp12 I AM really learning and enjoying the excellent series of tutorial videos by inibuilds themselves.

Actually these days I will probably fall asleep reading a manual 🤣

I am someone who truly values a well-crafted manual. Even before I became a commercial developer, the manual was always my first stop. However, it's important to find a balance between supply and demand. We have comprehensive documentation on the 650, amounting to over 6,000 pages. Condensing this into a format suitable for everyday flight sim enthusiasts may not be practical, as most people tend not to read manuals. This is precisely why Graeme graciously offered his time to create a series of videos, aimed at helping those eager to start flying as soon as possible.

I'm beginning to believe!
