April 13, 20251 yr Wasn't the latest nvidia driver release a big mess? Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

The only "grip" is that the INIBUILDS A300-600 always takes ages to load in the sim... But once loaded works just great! Hey Jose, thanks. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

I gave up on the latest one the last time I tried to upgrade bacause it had some serious quirk I don't exactly recall which though... Will check and report here when I finally get to my sim rig later today for a full flight in the INIBUILDS A300-600 😍 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

April 15, 20251 yr Just had a go at this beta after a few months away. Oh my days! The clouds and haze blew my mind! I flew from Dublin to Bristol in the 320 NEO. One of the best flights ever! The realism of flying through frontal cloud layers then landing in actual true to reality visibility (haze) was incredible. Well done to the Xplane team...just gets better and better. Best proper SIM on the market imo. Mark.
April 15, 20251 yr Second test to familiarize myself with my return to XP12. I repeat again, the feeling is incredible as far as I'm concerned. However, you have to fly often and persevere to clear the general FS painting, of which I have used every millimeter... Here we are on the Airbus A320 Toliss with the Google Map Improvement Pro version (Bing Latest). I decided to do a little test in North Africa without a flight plan but without forgetting the real weather. I have never seen such a crystal-clear ground, especially in this region, and even the horizon as far as the eye can see is clear and sharp.I have this indescribable feeling of being at altitude in a heavy plane. I am completely charmed by the overall atmosphere that all this represents.

No manuals needed to fly it! 😉 And who reads manuals anyway ... manuals would bore me to death even if they where available as audiobook version with campfire sounds available on YouTube narrated by the best Creepy Pasta storytellers. If you have a bit of knowledge of Airbus and Boeing flying you´re already fully in, the rest you will learn by trying while flying and one or two more tutorial vids. Just watch a 20 minute Foxtrott Alpha video how that FMC is programmed correctly, and watch a video about how an ILS-autoland is done and scribble down a few notes what buttons to press (it´s a bit more buttons, not just APPRoach like in an Airbus, it is similar to landing a Boeing 737 or a CRJ700) and you are good to go on your first flight. Here are some scenery and cloud screenshots from very low altitude, I cannot do that with the Challenger from 40.000 feet... so I had to roll-out a good old Cessna. The visuals are absolute gorgeous, everything looks sharp and clean and awesome and stylish, and the new clouds look superb. The visual level of detail on the ground is so beyond awesome, the night lighting is the best I have ever seen! Everywhere on the ground you will get power poles with cables between these poles, radio masts, traffic lights, cars casting real headlight shine while driving, fully 3d-modeled street lights next to every road or highway, and of course houses apartments gas stations and so much more. I have never noticed how much awesome visual stuff and tons of highest-quality graphiccs details are going on down there while being on flight level 400! 😉 But the realism the cockpit system features the top-notch flight dynamics are what really shines - after having enjoyed X-Plane once (with a good addon-plane of course like the HotStart Challenger) there is no going back to any other lesser sim. Never! 🙂 The airplanes feel so incredible alive and realistic, react to physics in such incredible realistic ways, weather and turbulence and icing is a real danger (unlike in other sims "let´s fly into Tornado Bethany with 500mph winds with a Piper Cub and get default_turbulence.anim animation played" realism level as shown in a dozen YouTube videos every time some hurricane or tornado occurs somewhere). In X-Plane your wing will stall when icing occurs, the weather radar must be observed closely or the plane will get ripped apart by turbulences or thrown over and tumble down in strong winds. The flight physics weather realism and cockpit and system features of X-Plane are beyond awesome.

In 12.2 beta I have Vulkan errors with any driver old or new. The cause is unknown to me, but it seems to be due to a higher computational demand of 12.2 compared to 12.1. At the moment I can reduce the crashes by lowering some settings. (Red dots, my previous 12.1 settings ... Green dots, my current 12.2 beta settings) With these settings I am back to flying with 12.2 beta3, and at the moment I am not experiencing any crashes. 🤞 [Pc Intel i3-4160 3,6 GHz, 8 GB di RAM, GeForce RTX-3060 12 GB, Win10 Home 64 bit]

In this regard, XP's scenery is 'far ahead' 😉 of the others sim scenery. On 4/23/2025 at 11:06 PM, JetCat said: ... everything looks sharp ... ... even far away. The buildings in the distance are sharp as we can see in the below video. And they don't plop up (LOD issues), they are blended smoothly into the scenery. If you zoom into the distance, things remain sharp. As we are talking about this: you can zoom in basically indefinitely (unlike ... you know 😉 - where the zoom is extremely limited). April 25, 20251 yr There are known vran problems the problem is that I think part of the team is out of the office this week and did not have time to put a patch for the vram in 12.2.3 to see if next week they find the solution to the problems with vulkan and vram.
