For what it’s worth I’ve posted the problem in the Microsoft Windows forum. Hopefully someone will respond with a permanent solution. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_11-

CORRECTION. I see he’s using v5.2. Can’t see that being an issue though.

Well, I did not tell him it was his issue.

All I knew is he had a problem with his set up and I did not with my setup.

My finding was there is no problem with Chaseplane on my setup (reviewed in the posts).

Further to my reinstalling Windows updates, I have now found that only certain NumPad keys are de-activating the A\P.

I have just added Ctrl to each of the keys and problem is solved.

I have tested it out and I do see improvement with the panning!!

trying to attach image but its not working

I understand that turning off Minimise to task bar in Chaseplane settings may fix the issue. I don't have the problem myself as I didn't install H224 Windows version.

Please confirm your version and build of Windows plus whether it’s Home or Pro.

Windows is Pro and the version is 24H2 Build 26100.4061 - I will have to test again to be sure, I might as well try the option to disable minimize to task bar to see if it actually does. Can post a video later.

I updated Windows yesterday and a short flight this morning seems to have confirmed that something has been fixed with the ChasePlane /Windows reaction.

Where previously I had NumPad keys (for CP views) shutting down the auto-pilot, everything seems to be back to normal.

Just hope it is permanent under all conditions. Time will tell.

Hello everyone!

I had no chance to update so far, but I will test it the coming days!

Im curious about the results! But what I hear from you guys, it sounds promising a fix has been implemented!

Best regards,

Those view changes for me were never affected. Just the hat switch panning. The AP on the PMDG738 was never affected.

Hi All

Yes its the same for me as well. I can report that after the latest Windows update since Tuesday evening there is slight improvement with the panning using the Mouse/Hat Switch but there is a slight lag spike before the movement goes back to full speed when panning. I am honestly not sure how this is being controlled by a windows update.

Nonetheless, I hope that this is just a small step to reverting it back to normal and hoping that the next due fix that will be pushed reverts the problem prior to all these lag problems.

However, I still feel confident that if the right amount of people join together to write a petition to P42 we might get them to fix this or atleast remove the connection between Windows Updates the the Panning - My mind tells me that this is a very simple fix.

Anyway - Looking forward to hear the rest of the viewpoints and if anyone has found more improvements.

Waiting to hear from everyone else

Just proves what we have always said: that there are so many different configurations of PCs that it is virtually impossible that "one size fits all".

Does this panning issue only affect Chaseplane, and not default P3D panning?

Reason: I purchased Chaseplane 3 weeks ago, but I didn't install it because I went on holidays. In the meantime, I've read all the horror stories in this thread, and I've been pausing Windows Updates since I returned.
