2020 Simmers Fight Back

Featured Replies

Dunno if this affected both sims but just tried 2020 and weather was totally off at departure. Winds were right but not the clouds or ceiling etc. Checked METAR in the sim and it said could not be displayed at destination but destination wx was spot on?

Didn't they just release a city update for both sims? When I look into your post history, I seriously think you need to touch some grass.

  • My opinion of Asobo has done a complete 180 in a very short time. After 2020's rough release I knew better than to preorder 2024, but even I was surprised at how underdeveloped it was at release. Howe

here to ‘bash and trash’ a product that you paid for.

That's right.  We're just different in this regard.  I really don't find inveterate whining about the same issues ad nauseum as a good thing and don't believe it will have any meaningful impact on MS/A's shortcomings.  My cup is very full.  I look at the relative pittance I paid for all of the absolutely fabulous hours upon hours of airline flights in 2020 managing crew (thank you to SLC!) and having flights scored via SLC and APL, the wonderful freeware FBW320nx, though am about to jump into Fenix for 2024, FSLTL is great and BATC seems to continue to improve.  2024 has been remarkably trouble-free with how I use these two sims, but miss the 737 for now.  I understand once SU2 arrives the MAX may well tie me over til something better arrives.  Aerosoft kindly made their CRJ's work well in 2024, totally well now, already and they just arrived recently.  For reasons I don't understand they threw in the 900 and 1000 which I had not purchased.  And Asobo/WT's 787 is still decent for a bridge solution til something better shows.  So yes, my cup is always very full, and I really find the continuous whining about MS/A's shortcomings as mostly obnoxious.  That's all we're just different in that regard.

I miss you defending his opinion. Like you are relentlesslsly doing for some other users. Why is your altruistic call to accept other opinions only heard for the benefit of some?

Because the others don’t get insulting and/or agressive and/or accusative when someone doesn’t agree with them, perhaps?

2020 simmers are fighting back.

but are fighting a losing battle.

MSFS 2024 is so much better in so many ways;

1) Faster loading times

2) Better performacne

3) No need to download hundreds of gigs of data

4) Streaming assets saves a ton of disk space

5) Cleaner GUI

6) Powerful and granular control scheme

7) Better cloupd/weather/atmosphere depiction

8)) Improved default aircraft, for example, the Cessna Citation Longitude

9) New avionics suite

10) Free LIDO charts

etc. etc.

Is it perfect? Far from it. Still, MSFS 2024 - as I said before - already put $$ in my pocket.

.......... and they know it 😉

Los Simmers del 2020 están contraatacando.

pero están librando una batalla perdida.

MSFS 2024 es mucho mejor en muchos aspectos;

1) Tiempos de carga más rápidos

2) Mejor rendimiento

What improvements does the Longitude bring in 2024?

complete cabin, not just the cockpit.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

free flight planner

many more free default aircraft (incl. 737 max)

and lets not forget: MSFS2024 has the most pebbles of all flight simulators, more than all other serious study level professional hardcore simulators combined!

No, I'm enjoying MSFS 2024.

I'm happy that you are enjoying your purchase.

Aside from the fast install (only 10GIG) + faster loading to the main menu, the planner, and some weather improvements, my version of MSFS 2024 has a long way to go before it can replace my MSFS 2020.

Here's a list of features that I prefer over over the new sim:

1) The UI in 2020 is significantly better. The marketplace is still not fully functional in 2024.

2) The drop down menu in 2020 has more features.

3) The weather/time window in 2024 has a bug that causes the sim to pause and flash. The time slider is also bugged.

4) I have more airplane choices in 2020.

5) I have more airports choices in 2020.

6) AI traffic (airliners) are broken in 2024.

7) Boats were INOP.

😎 Default ATC INOP.

9) I prefer the terrain colors with REX Accuseasons and the terrain lighting is much better in 2020. Watermask colors look better in 2020. This one still baffles me because 2024 was supposed to be so much better. They still need to fix bridges and improve PG rendering.

10) Lastly, Overall performance is much better on my system with MSFS 2020. Even though I was able to keep vRam in check, system RAM was at 27 of 32. It was not nearly as smooth as my experience with 2020.

Both sims are great, but as most here know, both sims need improvements.

My only wish is that they stop issuing updates that break or can break my MSFS 2020. I'd like to be able to enjoy at least one of the two sims.

So why did you stand up and defend the opinion of someone who posts like that?

This is a honest question because you better tune your sense of justice otherwise you are not a believeable defender of free speech but come across as someone, who does exactly the same: not accept other opinions.

I'm enjoying 2024 more than Recardo.
